I'll second that list edit.

If you're only ever gonna get 1000 points in Necrons, the best units in the codex are Destroyer Lord, Wraiths, Annihilation Barges, and Night Scythes

I'd be inclined to take Warriors over Immortals, but YMMV

Looks good to me...think about Warriors vs. Immortals though...if you face alot of AP4, the Immortals are worth the upgrade. If you're facing alot of AP3, they are not worth the upgrade IMO.

If you play Escalation, be aware that the Scarabs do not work on Super Heavy vehicles.

cheers.

i see what you mean but tbh the way i'd play the troops they'll spend as much time as possible in the flyers. only getting out to claim objectives late game so the armour difference is negligible.

and thankfully lords of war is not something i'll see. especially as i plan to keep it small.

Can you find 50 pts anywherefor 2 Crypteks w/ Voltaic ---> 1 for each of the Scythes warriors would just wreck vehicles and 4 shots at 5 str is also good vs inf.

I might rather those 2 Crypteks over an anni barge then you'd still have 40 pts left.

Good advice. If you're facing alot of heavy armor, these guys are the golden ticket. I don't know if I'd ditch an AB for them...I'd be inclined to ditch the Spyder and Scarabs, and spend the extra 60 on more troops....just a thought.

There's not a whole lot you can do with 24 points.

I'd probably go 1 more Warrior and another set of Whip Coils for one of your Wraiths.

Or, you could go buy your Destroyer Lord something nice.

i was thinking more whip coils but perhaps something nice for the lord would be better.

Res Orb? or any other suggestions?

No problem at all.

I personally would use 24 points on 1 more Warrior and another set of Whip Coils.

But if you do want to kit out your DLord more with the extra points, yeah, Res Orb will give him a 50% chance to come back (and also for your Warriors, if he goes along with them), so its a good option...that would put you 6 points over budget though, right? So make sure this isnt a big deal for you or the people you play with if you go that route.

P.S. I think Warriors come in boxes of 12...I'm not sure 1 more Warrior is worth $33 or whatever it is, so if you don't want to spend the extra $$ to get 1 more Warrior for your list, I'd either go with a Whip Coil & some Pistols for the Wraiths, or go get that Res Orb for the DLord.

Exactly my thinking. i am not buy another 12 man box to get 1 guy.

didn't realise the orb was that many points, he'll be going with the wraiths so bit pointless really.

my area is fine with 1-2 points over so lets say its 25 points i have.

i figured without looking that the lord wants to keep his warscythe so no gucci weapons. anything other options? otherwise i'll just go with wraith gear.

Yeah...the Warscythe is the best CC weapon in the Codex by far (one of the best in the game, actually), so you don' wanna get rid of that.

You really dont have any options codex-wise with this list except for extra Warrior bodies...or you could add another Stormtek, but IMO that's Haywire overkill for a 1000 point game.

So after that I think its just wargear options for your DLord or Wraiths.

So you gotta decide between a Res Orb (its not so much pointless, it can still keep your DLord alive) or Some whips and guns for your Wraiths.

IIRC, the pistols are only 5 points...they're not so great weapons, but at least they're cheap, and they do add some Overwatch and will give that unit some shots.

So maybe 3 pistols and 1 more set of Whip Coils.

On the off chance that you don't know this, when you run your Wraiths, but the Whip Coils in the back behind a meatshield so they don't get popped off first,

I like it for a 1000 point list...if you're good with 2 scoring units, than you're good to go IMO.

If you find in time you need another scoring unit, you should be able to find another 5+ warriors on ebay for cheapish

Automatically Appended Next Post:
P.S. If you're money conscious or dont like finecast, the Annihilation Barges come with an Overlord model, which can be converted into a Cryptek (just find a couple Deathmark heads to get the one-eye thing)

Also, the Annihilation Barge kit is modeled in such a way that you dont have to glue on the big TL Tesla Gun...so you can swap it in and out between Annihilation and Catacomb Command Barges.

I don't think you got an answer to this. Yes...any Cryptek can be bought as 1 of 5 Harbingers. The one with Haywire is the Harbinger of the Storm (the weapon is Voltaic Staff).

Well, its not legal if you run a DLord. For the Crypteks you'll need an Overlord.
I'd keep the equipment of the Wraiths at a minimum.

Glad to hear you didn't spend any $$$ on my Royal Court oversite!

Yup...that looks like a strong 1000 point list IMO, with the main weakness being few scoring units.

If you find this to be a problem (few scoring units), you could find some warriors on the cheap on ebay or something and trade one of the AB for another blob of 6-7 warriors.

But from your posts you seem OK with 2 scoring units, so I'd say your good to go IMO (for real this time...sorry about that!)
