Hey guys. I'm currently working on my Tyranid army, was inspired to take them up again with the new book. Decided to repaint the whole lot, as they were one of my first armies, way back in the day. Progress is slow as I'm working on my Vampire Counts too, as well as commissions eating up most of my time. Anyway, here are some pics of what I've painted so far.

First up is my Lictor. Always loved these guys, so had to paint one up. I'll most likely field him even if they aren't great, just because it's an awesome model. He isn't quite finished, gonna give him so glowing eyes most likely, as well as bringing up the flesh a bit more. Maybe a few other bits and bobs.

Also painted some Termagants. Only done 5 so far, so plenty more of these guys to go.

I figured I'd paint these guys to a fairly basic standard, as I own so many Tyranids, and I'd actually quite like to finish the army at some point.

What do you guys think? Comments and Criticism welcome as always!

*edit*

Just realized these guys are a bit dusty. I'll make sure I give em a good dusting before I post any more pics!

I like the worn carapace, skintone, and the combination of both. That's a pretty good standard with which to paint a bunch of buganids, they're very clean and look good.

For the bases, is that the new GW technical paint in action or is it an effect of your own design? Either way they look great

I think they look fantastic. Glowing eyes would make your Lictor look more notorious.

Thanks for the comments lads! Yes that's the new Agrellan earth technical paint. Took a few tries to get the hang of it, as the consistency has to be just tight. I also did a few other steps to add more texture. However I'm pleased with the result. If the rest of the new technicals work as well as this one, It'll be a good little range.

For the lictors eyes I'm going to do an OSL effect. Any ideas for the colour? I was thinking orange, building up to yellow.
