I played my first game with someone using drop pods. I have a question about scattering/landing the drop pod.

The scenario: Opponent's drop pod lands after scattering on the table edge. If the model is centered it would be partially off the table. (doors are still shut)

The question: Is this considered scattered off the table?

We rolled off as I am not familiar with drop pod rules. (He landed with his dread, I meltad it to death on my turn. )

Yes, as the model cannot be placed without being off the table, so it is a mishao

Yes. If part of the model/base is off the table, it's off the table.

All parts of a model must be on the table at all times; no parts of a model may hang off the table at any time.
So it sounds like a Mishap here.

Thanks for the info guys. One other question do the doors that open count as part of the model? i.e. does if the doors are hanging off the edge of the table can it not be deployed?

No, doors in no way affect where the model can go, since doors arent technically a thing.

IIRC the hull is the important thing for being on the table. Guns, doors, antenna, banners, etc. can hang off. Everyone I know play the doors as just that, so only the base and strut/wings counts as hull.

That said, you do hear people arguing that the doors count as part of the hull, and you can disembark from the tip. But I think they are few and far between. Check with how your opponent plays it.

Guys, you're missing what he's saying, the hull is partially off the table, not the doors.

Yes, even being partially off the board triggers a mishap according to page 36.

I have a peanut allergy. It's really inconsiderate.

Nope, they're not missing anything.

Never mind.

The doors count as part of the hull if the doors of a Land Raider count as part of the hull. Once you figure out if you'll let your opponent open their Land Raider doors to get an extra inch of deployment, you'll know if they are or not.
