I want to run Farseer Bel-Annath in a list but I am having trouble deciding where to put him. Also, I want to take advantage of his guaranteed Fortune, but I'm not sure what unit would benefit most from it. Maybe Asurmen in a unit of Scytheguard? A fortuned squadron of Hornets with Pulse Lasers and Holofields sounds nasty as well. What do you think?

I think you just created a whole new meta with that...I wish i had some Tau.

Any thoughts on running him in a pure Eldar list?

Eldar wraithguard work well, and sense your using the forge world book with corsairs in it, i would get an corsair prince with a shadow field. 2+ invulnerable tanking for the wraith guard is just insane. Would also let the wraith guard deep strike.

So, yeah. There is one small problem. His psychic powers reference page 28 of the Eldar codex.

Page 28 of the Eldar codex has no psychic powers listed.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

While this is indeed true, I created this post under the assumption that my gaming group would allow me to use him with the corresponding powers from the current codex.

I dont see the refernce to page 28 for his powers anywhere. It just lists

Psychic powers:
Eldritch storm
Fortune
Mind war

That is because you need the Forgeworld update:

Bel-Annath, Farseer of the Mymeara Craftworld (IA11: The Doom of Mymeara, p144)
Bel-Annath gains the following special rule, which replaces the Psychic Powers rule: Psyker (Mastery level 1). Note that his Spirit Stones will increase his Mastery level to Mastery level 2 during play.
Bel-Annath may choose to either use the Psychic powers listed on his profile (ie, Eldritch Storm, Fortune and Mind War as detailed on page 28 of the Eldar Codex and amended in the Eldar FAQ found on the Games Workshop website), or he may generate three powers from either the Divination, Pyromancy or Telepathy Psychic Disciplines from the Warhammer 40,000 rulebook.

Assuming Forgeworld updates the rules to reflect the new Eldar codex here is what I expect to see:

Spoiler:

Bel-Annath
WS 6 BS 5 S 3 T 3 W 3 I 5 A 2 Ld 10 Sv -

Wargear:
- Rune Armour
- Shuriken Pistol
- Ghost Helm
- Runes of Witnessing

Remnant of Glory
- The Sundered Spear

Special Rules
- Ancient Doom
- Battle Focus
- Fleet
- Independent Character
- Psyker (Mastery Level 3)

Psyker:
Farseer Bel-Annath generates his powers from the Divination, Pyromancy, Runes of Fate and Telepathy disciplines.

Forgeworld units tend to be quite underwhelming crunch wise as a rule.

4th edition Farseer with same upgrades and powers comes out to 155 points. So for the extra 20 points, you are getting +1 WS, +1 A, 12" Stubborn bubble, and a one use template weapon.

As I have no idea how GW/FW determines point cost I intentionally did not try to figure it out.

Adrift within the vortex of my imagination.

I had a small look at the Mymeara book a while back, does Bel-Annath change the Force Org at all?

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.
