I ordered a Trade Federation Battleship which was part of the Starship Battles game so I could use it in another game. It was a great price for a massive ship.

I wasn't expecting outstanding quality, but it is really poorly assembled and warped. On one side, where the 2 halves are supposed to meet, the bottom is overlapping the top. Has anyone seen a method for disasembling these things? Once disassembled, I know I might be able to correct the warp with hot water.

It is so warped, one of the connection pegs is bulging out. I'm willing to drill those out from the bottom and putty over the hole, but I don't know where the others are or if that is enough to get it to separate.

Can anyone offer any suggestions?

It's not quite the same, but I have the Trade Federation Droid control ship. That might be my suggestion. They look the same, the colours are just different. Just pay the shipping... I'll even throw in droid fighters.

Heh I have had a fair few ships that were wonky on their bases but I havent seen a problem like that where the two halves have been badly glued like that. Certainly they don't strike me as being ships you can disassemble without destroying them.

So yeah as Mathieu suggests, getting another one is probably your best bet if it is really annoying you. I'm always on the look out for more Venators and Acclamators and I always see those Droid Control Ships and TF Battleships going pretty cheaply because they weren't rare.. unlike the ships I'm after.

I was always on the lookout for the Star Destroyers and Interdictors, but now that the game is pretty much dead, I've given up looking.

Oh sure, I only ever used them in SWSE. So when WotC canned the whole line it was initially very good for me since a lot of cheap job lots could be had.. but I guess people were doggedly holding on to their rare models and ships in the hope that they might one day be worth something. I still don't have any ARCs because they never go for less than £10. Bah!
