Ever take em? What are the advantages/disadvantages? I quite like the models and think that in a death star set up there is a definite advantage, but otherwise not so sure... What has been other people's experience?

Pros - allows you to add more squishy ICs without that annoying majority Toughness drop.

Con - losing a Drone can cause a Riptide to run away.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.
Orks always ride in single file to hide their strength and numbers.

its also pretty damn expensive for basically a shield drone. If it was either a little more durable (2+ armor) or had a better BS it might be worth it. Its too easy to kill despite being T6 and forces a Ld9 check.

An ork with an idea tends to end with a bang.

I guess in at riptide list white scars with grav guns is quite a hard counter. And I suppose in thinking that shielded missile drones might help a little with the grav guns?

If you're going with O'Vesa star, you'll have 2 anyway (he comes with 2). So adding other 2 to the joined Riptide helps, but gets pricey. If not going with the star, don't bother.
