Any thoughts on scouts with heavy bolter in a land speeder storm?

I love the models and at 2000 pts ~624 points for 36 heavy bolter shots and 6 fast moving troops choices with enough fire power to be annoying enough to not be ignored?

But you kinda want your troops ignored...If the enemy has even more reasons to kill your troops it's a bad day

Scouts and Storms have terrible accuracy and survivability. Regular Landspeeders are a far better weapon platform.

Let me offer an alternative list:
Scout Squad /w Camo Cloaks and Land Speeder Storm
Scout Squad /w Camo Cloaks and Land Speeder Storm
Scout Squad /w Camo Cloaks and Land Speeder Storm
2x Land Speeder Typhoons
2x Land Speeder Typhoons
630pts

21 Heavy Bolter shots and greater average accuracy (12.5 shots will land on average, compared to 18 shots in your first list), combined with 8 typhoon missile shots (two devastator squads worth of firepower). Half as many troops, but camo cloaks give them far better survivability once they're on the ground.

Scouts are good at scoring, and it's possible to make fun lists with Storms. They can be a useful late-game scoring unit that you can hide in a corner of the map, then fly across the board on turn 4. I would recommend giving the Storm a heavy flamer instead of a heavy bolter - since it's a template weapon, the bad BS of the Storm doesn't matter, and it can hold up an enemy squad for a turn who would otherwise be attacking your scout squad (who you just disembarked onto an objective). Now, as an open-top transport you might be tempted to use it for drive-by shootings, but I don't think that's a great use for them. Scouts are pretty bad in combat (especially considering their price), best to use them as dedicated scoring units.

I see....

That is good.

So at 1850:

Primary
Knight paladin
Knight errant
Knight errant

Allies
Scouts cc bolter storm x 3
Typhoon x 2
Sm captain

Something along those lines be competitive?

Wait that can't work it's late

No idea how well it would fit into a Knight list (I've never played with them).

Again, I don't want to dissuade you from using Storms. Just don't make the mistake of using them as Shooty units - they're for Dirty Tricks and Shenanigans, not firepower.

Storms + scouts are good. But people usually use heavy flamers on storms and bp+ccw on scouts. Sometimes with meltabomb on a champ. Don't forget, they got scout. So that you can attempt a first-turn flank troop harrasement with a heavy flamer. And attempt to hunt a vehicle next turn. Sure, you'll need blos for that cause 10-10-10 opentopped won't last long in the open. Or you could just outflank and hope for the best. Depends on situation. But what i know for sure is that heavy bolters are useless when you ride landspeeder storm.

Storms could work but you will need more durable scoring units if you plan to use your troops slots to attack. Some ideas are to get AM allies which can give you huge number of cheap troops in the allies slot to score home objectives, Inquisition to gain lots of little units to walk on late game, Tau for their 2 kroot scoring they like to do, CWE for 2 jetbike units to score, and SM allies for a couple of bike units to outflank and score.

You can also DS a few of the land speeder storm scouts toward the end game to clear objectives with a HF and combi flamer. The melee scouts are actually pretty good at clearing CWE jetbikes and minimum size CD units off of objectives, assuming you can keep them relatively unmolested.

A list I have been thinking about but lack the speeders to try is;
Spoiler:
Space Marines Iron Hands
+ HQ +
* Chapter Master (250pts) Artificer Armour, The Shield Eternal, Thunder Hammer, Bike
+ Troops +
* Bike Squad (247pts) 6x Bikers w/ 2 grav guns, Attack Bike w/ Multi-Melta, Biker Sergeant w/ Combi Grav and Melta Bombs
* Scout Squad (115pts) 4x Scout w/ CC and BP, Sarge w/ combi melta and melta bombs, Land Speeder Storm w/ HF
* Scout Squad (115pts) 4x Scout w/ CC and BP, Sarge w/ combi melta and melta bombs, Land Speeder Storm w/ HF
* Scout Squad (115pts) 4x Scout w/ CC and BP, Sarge w/ combi melta and melta bombs, Land Speeder Storm w/ HF
* Scout Squad (115pts) 4x Scout w/ CC and BP, Sarge w/ combi melta and melta bombs, Land Speeder Storm w/ HF
* Scout Squad (115pts) 4x Scout w/ CC and BP, Sarge w/ combi melta and melta bombs, Land Speeder Storm w/ HF
+ Heavy Support +
* Stalker (75pts)
* Thunderfire Cannon (100pts)
Inquisition
+ HQ +
* Inquisitor Coteaz (100pts)
+ Elites +
* Inquisitorial Henchmen Warband (127pts) 8 CC/LP Acolyte, Jokaero Weaponsmith, 3 Servitors w/ Plasma Cannon

That's the issue with knights, you need allies becuase the points don't add up nicely

I try to use the LSS as a last-minute objective grabber. They're too flimsy to keep out from the start.

With Scout, it can outflank, and with a HF, it can try to clear enemy objectives. Jump out on the following turn, and tie it up or claim it.

Use it with some heavy units, and try to keep the fire going their way.
Don't forget, a 10-man Scout squad can be split, and 5 of them get a ride. Use the others as snipers or something.

I am building a list around 4 units of bolter scouts in storms in my sentinels of terra/crimson fist list.

Combined with 3 units of sternguard it could be fun times.

On a short table a storm can hit hard turn one. The 12 inch scout move gets it close then turn one 12 more can get it into range.
I run mine with a heavy flamer and shotgun team inside. It is very dependant on going first but if I am I can often make the squads points back in one move.
