So, i've been wanting to get into the miniture tabletop scene for awhile now. I looked into WH40k, i have models but yet to play a game, 8 personally found the rules complacated mainly because it was a new thing and ALLOT of info to take in. So, with that said I started looking atound and came across Infinity, the more I read/ watched videos the more appeal it looked. I'm just trying to find a local store/ group to get a live acting feel for it. Suggestions on a nee miniture player/ hobbist is always welcome! Thanks

Well welcome (possibly!) to Infinity!

Any game related questions we'll be happy to help with.

As for finding a local store/group and all that, well I can make recommendations for my area, but that's the Baltimore/DC Maryland area.

The Wiki is really useful tool for learning, as are the videos, so that's a good start there.

Have a faction you're interested in?

"-and all that time in Paris, when you were wallowing in debauchery with your doxies, tarts and pirates... you were trying to convince me you were a disgusting, swinish, lecherous, drunken sot... Well I want you to know it worked.

Well done."

So your gaming background? This does matter, since it can be an abrupt transition for people used to board games or card games, to move into tabletop miniatures games. RPG folk though, seem to have an easier time of it.

I suggest that you download the quickstarter rules here http://www.beastsofwar.com/wp-content/uploads/Infinity-QuickStartRules-V1.pdf and set up a table somewhere and walk yourself through things to get an idea of how it may play. You can use pretty much anything to represent terrain, and all sorts of odds and ends to stand in as the miniatures. The idea is to get used to how the game may play. You've already watched the videos, which is good.

For players in your area, here is a list http://infinitythegame.com/forum/index.php?/topic/3138-infinity-players-locales-living-database/page-47#entry456075

There is also a map https://infinitypeople.herokuapp.com/

If you find somebody close to you, sign onto the official forum and PM them about the local scene, or just ask in the 'Users' forum. You may have to recruit some friends into the game if you cannot find any players close by.

I am from Texas, around Houston area. As far as faction I'm interested in the Nomads would be my first choice followed by Pan O. I have two little girls so I dont get a lot of spare time, I'm not real experience in Table Top gaming, but really want to dive right into it!!

Hmm... One of the Houston suburbs. Woodlands?

There's a Facebook group called Houston Area Infinity so you might want to start there for local questions. There's also an all encompassing group called Houston Area Wargamers.
