So, we all know that making a decision to smash attack halves your attack characteristic and doubles your strength. My question is: At what point do you halve the attack characteristic? Is it just the base characteristic that is halved, and then add bonus attacks or do you add bonus attacks prior to the attacks halving?

Funny thing about this.
Back when 6th first dropped, certain people advocated halving after adding bonus attacks, despite the fact it hurt them.
Then the FAQ was released.
Multiply/Divide then Add/Subtract.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.
Orks always ride in single file to hide their strength and numbers.

Rulebook FAQ, page 6. You half your attacks first, then apply modifiers. EDIT: Ninja'd by Happyjew <3

The Attack characteristic is halved. Look at the number on the model's profile: halve that.
Then add bonuses for charging, cc weapons, Warp Speed, whatever.

If you are including bonus attacks you are not halving the Attack characteristic.

I have a peanut allergy. It's really inconsiderate.

Before the final blow was struck, I tore open a portal in space and flung him into the Warp, where my evil is law! Now the fool seeks to return to real-space, and undo the evil that is Chaos!" |

As above. Its even in the rulebook on page 2 or 3, dealing with multiple modifiers.
