Subject: Warhammer 40K Video Bat Rep #227 Skyblight Tyranids vs Chaos Flying Circus
Frankie and Geoff throw down, Skyblight Nids vs. a beautiful Chaos Flying Circus list we recently finished for a client! Check us out for your next paint project!
Well that was a complete domination. Psychic heavy armies are going to cringe against so many FMCs with Shadows. I'd like to see this list against Frankie's DE/Eldar army. Great report thanks guys!

Why is the poor Slannesh Prince always the first to die?? 9-( I wouldnt say that it was an actual mistake to kill him first being that he would be the biggest threat to the Nid flyers (2d6 S6+ attacks that arent psychic).

I have been testing my skyblight build and it is close to the one Geoff uses.
I've noticed getting first turn has been huge, it changes the play of skyblight quite a bit. My game vs seer council and flying circus, where I went first, both ended up in massive wins. However, going second caused the games to both come down to the last turn.
Once the Flying circus is in the air, and they have a full turn of rolling powers they are much harder to put down. Flickering fire is pain in the arse. It was the same with eldar.. eating 4 WS worth of fire on top of the council rolling all their powers and in general being the pointy ear'd dbags that they are.
Though, no matter how unlucky Frankie's dice were, seeing the nids put a beating on someone always warms my heart...
Seems like Frankie has been on a bad-rolling streak recently. My advice is to sacrifice a few cultists to the Dice Gods and then start using your opponent's dice.

Fixed that for you! It works for me every time.
Well, I always carry two dice cubes (different color and brand) to interchange. The infuriating problem is that I am a logical and not superstitious person, but it ALWAYS works.
Back on topic: DANG was that brutal. I don't even think it's a bad matchup, but go go Tyranids!

Impressive win for the Bugz. I'd love to see a rematch. Fateweaver getting caught out by the lil bugs was epic. I probably would have sent in a Prince or two to lend a helping hand.
This is a pretty rough matchup for the deamons, but I think Frankie could have deployed a little less aggressively with all of his stuff and helped his cause a bit. I think the only way fmc deamons can really fight skyblight is to be super passive and try to pick up first blood with the heldrake, and then contest objectives at the end of the game. Not an easy or fun win, but trying to fight toe to toe against a superior number of flyers, especially with three flyrants, is bad news.

Nids are a tough fight for FMC daemons. Luckily daemon of tzeentch seems to be made with nids in mind, keeping the them at LD9. Be'Lakor really suffers against them though.
I agree though that Heldrakes are key here, and I always found Flickering Fire is extremely important too. Since it's AP4 Fateweaver can usually down a crone/harpy per turn.

My son plays Nids and I've learned to deploy conservatively. Getting nailed with two Flyrants each firing 12 TL S6 shots is brutal.
