As I pointed out in the title, this is a UK company that wants to make a pen which will melt plastic, push it out a tiny nozzle, at which time it will then air-cool so you can "draw" three dimensional (wireframe) objects. I decided to post this here because I can see how this might be useful for scribing 3d detail onto plastic models. The output is 0.6mm so it should be doable for vehicles and large models. I can only imagine what the more artistic types can do to a Titan or such with one of these.
One caveat. I don't know these guys and have no connection to their project. I just thought this could be put to good use by some of our more creative hobbyists out there. This project is still in the prototype/testing phase and as with all such stuff there is no guarantee regarding your pledges.
EDIT: It looks like the £82/$135 pledge is the only one you can realistically go for now. Still, if you want to try for one of the early bird pledges, just wait until the last day or two and snipe one when one of the pledges drops. It nearly always happens in nearly every kickstarter so I don't expect this one to be any different.
How long before it hardens? If you were to put it directing on a plastic model would melt? If not wonder if you could fill some gaps with it? Or use it to texture surfaces?
Check out the video. They draw a simple wireframe pyramid. The pen created nearly vertical lines and they hardened pretty quick. It stands pretty straight, too. No idea on durability.

I'm not sure I'd consider that a "printing" device. The function is basically a modified version of a hot glue gun, rather than glue it heats up plastic which allows you to shape it.
It's still a neat idea for creative stuff, but it'd be about the same marketing gimmick if I started calling my low temp glue gun a 3d printer.
