This poor little feller is trying to sell LOTR stuff at about 5 times their value

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/LOTR-The-Hobbit-Miniatures-28-Fighting-Uruk-hai-Games-Workshop-/141268489242

I really don't know if I should let them know that it will never sell, or if they know already.

Why have none of you bid on it?

WTS: Used item for new item price, also shipping is $3 more than GW

Terrible deal? OK Fine.

WTS: NEW item for $3 less than GW price, but for $4 more in shipping

I honestly don't intend this simply as a point and laugh, but really, how on earth could anyone consider that this was pro painted?

The amount of people selling 2014 space hulks above retail when they are still in stock on the GW website is amazing.

I don't know if I should let them know, or if it is naïve to think they don't already.

In case anyone else has this problem;

Miniatures sub-category in Toys and Games for ebay has been moved.

Instead of Toys and Games > Miniatures

It is now Toys and Games > Games > Miniatures

I thought I was going mad when I couldn't find it on my phone

Feel really sorry for these people buying recast thunderhawks

There is literally nothing we can do about it as well

I am honestly so conflicted.

I could buy a thunderhawk from china for $200 and sell it for $600 (as evidenced)

Or, I could buy a recast thunderhawk from ebay for $600, gamble that paypal will agree it is a forgery, refund my money and organise it "destroyed", thereby getting a free thunderhawk.

OR, I could not be a jerk to anyone.

I honestly think that I was destined to be batman, this kind of injustice just really bothers me. I wonder if that means I was supposed to kill my parents.

BUT WHAT IS THE RIGHT THING?!?!?!??!?

Surely letting people get ripped off isn't the right thing?

BUT MAYBE that dude was also ripped off? I hassled another seller on ebay who was selling recasted stuff and actually got the whole story out of him, someone sold him a bulk lot with all this recasted stuff and he was stuck - he didn't realise at the time, and seemed legitimate.

Maybe I am looking to create batman, maybe I am...

Recast with genuine forge world bag!

Who wants to tell him that a genuine one doesn't come in a bag?

That isn't an oddity, they have tons of sales at those prices.

I'd never pay that, personally, but if they're actually selling it is just good business.

You can see that it was intentionally bid up to hit the maximum of what the winner put in, then let go.

You know, as much as I love to criticize hacks on eBay...I often wonder if I shouldn't give some of this silliness a go. I suspect the old adage of "there's an ass for every seat" might apply. I know plenty of people who spend money in stupid ways - there must be heaps of wargamers who do the same.

I do genuinely wonder how much of this stuff sells...

You'd be surprised how dumb or lazy ebay buyers can be, I have sold a lot on ebay and am continually surprised with what I see
