Hi there,

Appears White Spirit is term commonsly used in USA and also UK.

Is this the same stuff, this is for New Zealand.

Is this for oil washing?

We had this discussion in relation to Australia a few months back, I can have a look and see if I can find it.

Wikipedia says mineral turps = white spirit, I personally found that untrue, turps was much harder on the underlying paint and even with a gloss coat, I couldn't remove the oil wash without stripping the underlying paint. I think they all come from the same family of chemicals but from country to country their precise composition varies (or maybe from brand to brand?).

Do you have the "Diggers" brand in NZ? They make "white spirit", which is what I've been using.
