Hello all,

Some of you will no doubt be aware that the-Waaagh has been having epic technical problems in its know-wats, and it's been in a sorry state for quite a while. I don't know if it'll be fixed (hope so), but I really miss having any kind of Orky fix. I've always fancied joining Dakka, and I suppose now is a good time to take advantage of having a pretty good excuse. It is largely motivated by the hope that a lot of my waaagh friends are on here as well, but making new ones is a very unproblematic bonus!

The main thing to know about me is I'm an amateur writer. I enjoy writing a wide variety of things, mostly fiction, and 40k fan-fiction. Aside of my own stuff, I'm working on some fairly sizeable stories about Orks, my primary 40k passion, and I'm hoping to share those on here shortly. Most of them I've been working on for the-waaagh, but there's no reason not to put them up here as well (especially since the-waaagh is currently down). I also write articles about the hobby (have a series about misconceptions about Ork fluff), and try very, very hard, not to rant about the awful state of GW's writing, especially rules, and regularly fail. I'm fairly cynical, overly wordy, and I write long posts. Very long posts. Unapologetically.

As far as the hobby is concerned, I spend most of my effort with 40k. Modelling, fluff and fan-rules are my primary interests, and most of those were funnelled through the waaagh, so I've been at a bit of a loss for the past 4 or 5 months. Particular interest areas are (for Orks) Rebel Grots (wrote a Codex for the-waaagh's Klanz Projekt which I'm currently in the process of making 6th Ed Friendly) and Madboyz, but I'm a bit of a bore when it comes to Orks. The best solution to fix this is to tell me I'm being a bore. I'm also a Sisters of Battle player (guess what, I absolutely loathe Mat Ward, but this isn't the only reason) and I finally gave in and started making a Genestealer Cult army, which will likely get a blog soon.

I play other games, but currently I'm limited to the GW cores, which means I mostly bother with 40k. I've pretty much given up on LoTR, and I'm struggling with WHFB, as, well, I friggin' hate it. Have a Cryx army that barely sees the light of day, and slowly getting back into some of the SGs and Historical. I also write my own games, but I wont bore you lot with that here. I'm also an old Specialist Games Vet, mostly play Necromunda and Gorkamorka, so I might get involved in that a bit on the forum.

I'm going to try to limit myself to fluff, modelling and painting for now. I don't want another forum where I fall into bitching about how GW's writing is, so I'll stick to the fun stuff if I can.

Thanks for reading.

Nice well structured introduction. Tells me everything I wanna know and doesn't waste time. You sure you're an ork?

Do you have a Ph.D in conversion work? Because that's about the only way out of this place!

But that's the essence of Orkiness! Direct and straight to the point!

Ha! I wish!

Bigger trick will be putting pictures up of my models at the moment. I have a backlog I can use for now, but up to date stuff is going to be difficult for a while. My smartphone has decided to develop a ghostly blob of purpleness when taking pictures, and my old digicams are in a bad way. Hopefully the situation will change soon! In the mean time I'll probably have to find a way around the purple blobs.

Hi,

Welcome to Dakka
