I've been messing with building a viable non-mech-vet list since the new codex came out and this is my best idea so far. Any input is welcome!

The general battle plan is to let vehicles fight heavy targets and infantry claim objectives and fight infantry with volume of fire.

The army has a strong alpha strike (2 vanqs, 8 lascannons, 3 autocannons, 11 HK missiles). With moderate luck 6 lascannons and 6 HK will be buffed with prescience and if the Tank Commander gets preferred enemy this buffs 2 vanqs, 2 lascannons and 2 HK missiles. I am a bit worried about spending 110 pts on HK missiles, but the alpha strike is appealing...

For anti-infantry there are 6 flamer units with a total of 10 flamers. There are also 10 precision shot bolters and some 80 lasguns.

Thanks to lascannons/melta each unit in the army can hurt any target, so in the endgame all survivors should be reasonably useful.

One open question is how to protect the psykers. Could prove to be a tricky one.

I would change up your infantry to be all the same weapons. flamers in one squad meltas another.

Plasma sponsons on one tank are a little pointless the tanks will be tank hunting use MMs or nothing at all. I think more troops or perhaps heavy weapon teams in your platoons would be more useful than all the HKs

Ive never tried the masses sentinels, i would like to know how that fairs. Maybe use autocannons for double the shots.

I thought about having triple melta squads, but I fear six T3 bodies on foot carrying three meltas will be a too obvious target. Same goes for the PCS. Just a single melta to keep cost down and body count up. Point taken though, I'll keep it in mind.

All tanks had plasma at one point, but then I ended up at 1866 pts. Plasma cannons are such a sweet deep-strike deterrent! I guess I could downgrade to multimelta sponsons, saving a few points in the process, but I don't like it as there is so much AT already.

I thought about auto cannons. At least for one squad, in case you get the outflank warlord trait. I think I want to keep at least some with lascannons tough, as they really can hurt anything on the table. Actually, downgrading one squadron to AC would save enough points for the plasma sponsons.

You have alot of Anti-Tank. What happens if you run into a horde of Termagaunts? Or Orks? You don't have enough Anti-Infantry firepower.

Make one of the sentinel squadrons into autocannon sents, and make your Exterminator a Punsiher or an Eradicator. You may want to look into some weapon teams for your infantry squads as well.

I have updated the list in the initial post.

Exterminator is gone.

Added plasma sponsons to 2nd vanq in commanders squadron.
Added 1 PiS w melta/bolter per platoon.
Added flamers to PCS.
Change one squadron of Sentinels to autocannons.

45 points to spend.
