Changing Our Legion's Name

Greetings all,

new to these forums but been gaming since....oh, early nineties or something. Started off with the original Space Marine (the one set in the Horus Heresy), then expanded into Warhammer Fantasy Battle (think it was 3rd edition at the time) and 40K - can't remember the edition but it had the beakie Crimson Fists on the front. Anyway, stuck with GW for quite a while and had lots of fun with Epic, Necromunda and Man O' War as well until I kinda lost interest and left it for many years.

Last year a mate of mine started up a local gaming club which has been quite successful so decided to get back into things. Have ended up with mostly non-GW armies, so far I've gotten into Dystopian Wars (French), Firestorm Armada (Dinzdrenzi) and Flames of War (Germans). However the lure of GW games is strong - most of the games at our club are 40K. I've had a look at the new Dwarf army book and it's quite interesting so may very well dust off the stunties again. 40K itself I'm not sure about getting back into - just before the new Eldar book came out I had a 'friendly' game with a rather motley cobbled-together Eldar list versus Imperial Guard and got absolutely creamed.....deep striking stromtroopers, fortifications and gunships all came as a very nasty surprise and really put me off.

Saying that though I really do like the new Forge World Mechanicus stuff......

Looking forward to using these forums to help get up to speed with GW games in general, also looks like some really interesting bits and pieces re painting and modeling in general, which I am a tad rusty on!

Hi,

Welcome to Dakka
