Yes but it does not say it replaces the origional listing it merely states that it can be taken as heavy support in tau codex. Hence my confusion.

I could see it go both ways.

Technically you have 2 unit entries called "Hammerhead gunship"

1 of those unit entries contains a box-out option for longstrike.

It could be viewed as only the entry with the boxout can actually take Longstrike.

It could also be viewed that because he is in a box-out any "Hammerhead gunship" entry tank can take him because unlike knight commander Pask he is not a simple upgrade option in the 1 entry.

Personally I would allow him in the IA "Hammerhead gunship" because of view 2(also aren't the IA Hammerheads more expensive?)

This is my Rulebook. There are many Like it, but this one is mine. Without me, my rulebook is useless. Without my rulebook, I am useless.
Stop looking for buzz words and start reading the whole sentences.

Technically fluff wise, Longstrike became a hero in the Taros Campaign and he could be in any Hammerhead you field from IA3 as a normal pilot.

Other then that, I agree with Kel.

Hammerheads from both are the same basic price but with more options. And thanks for your views guys really appreciate the response. :-)

Longstrike in the LBBC tank is a nasty close support with his supporting fire rule.
