This list will be run solo at times, and also as part of a 2k per side random team setup. Critiques, positives and negatives?

I'll have to play a bit with Synapse, but since the termagants will often be backfield objective monkeys I am not too worried. I plan to run the Venomthrope in the Bastion with Warriors on it (is it better to have them inside or on top of it, IYHO?), with pressure from the flyers and 'fex.

Most of this is due to 'what I own' limitations, but I can grab a bit more stuff if need be.

Ideas?

Looks like a strong list. For 1k points, you have a good amount of synapse, troops to score, and a couple of strong threats.

I can't answer your question about the warriors, as I do not run bastions.

Not the list I would run, but it's very solid.

Thanks for the comment. I generally have not run fortifications outside of a ADF, but the Bastion + Venomthrope + Warriors seems like an interesting play. Well, and I have a friend with a Bastion, so I can try before I buy.

Looks good,.the only thing I'd suggest is drop 3 Termagants from one Brood, and buy a Thorax Hive for the T-fex, it's mighty handy.

That is funny... I had already though of the same thing! Love me some electroshok grubs, especially as our area has a lot of IG players!

I also like the idea of a Venomthrope using a heavy bolter from the Bastion... it is just funny to me!
