This was an interesting commission- the concept was to create a loyalist version of an Iron Warriors titan. The heraldry that I freehanded onto him incorporates both the Iron Warriors iconography, and mixes it with imperial iconography.

Of course, you're here for the pictures, so here you go.

Looks sharp! That is a lot of metallic work but it doesn't get monotonous. And the warmer yellows used on the warning stripes are quite nice.

My only suggestion would have been to add some battle damage on the metallic parts of the titan as it currently only appears on the yellow and black areas of the machine. Some blackened scorch marks or painted divots/scratches might have given a more cohesive look to the battle damage. But, I know this beast is likely back in your clients hands already so no big deal!

Do you know if your client will mount this titan on a base or do they plan to leave it as is?

I suspect there won't be a base for him. He was actually sent home in pieces- this client sent me several different weapon options, and this mini can hold together rather well without glue (Armorcast Titans are held together with screws).

I think putting him on a base would make him less swappable/transporable than he currently is.

My favorite Chaos Legion and my favorite era of miniatures? Yeah, I dig this. I dig this a lot. The yellow and the lenses give the model some warmth that really offsets that lovely iron tone too. Great work!

The centre of a massive brood chamber, heaving and pulsating.

I'm not gonna lie, the model itself is outrageously derpy.

The paintjob you gave it though...fantastic stuff.

You know, squigsquasher, I like that kind of praise. It leads me to paint all sorts of odd minis from times long gone by.

I've got a whole let of Space Crusade stuff awaiting my attention.

Woah woah woah.. Space Crusade is 0% derpy
But, agreed on the derpiness of the Titan, he just screams 'HURR HURR', lovely work on the paint job though!

I've been painting minis for a good long while. Maybe I should have mentioned my old Mutant Chronicles: Warzome minis instead. Their giant shoulder pads make Warmachine's look small.

Often, I feel that the old minis were just fine, they simply needed to have a studio paintjob that was less... orange maybe?

Like my old Screamer Killer (from before they started calling it a Carnifex) that I need to do up sometime. I'll need to find an excuse for that one.

Maybe someone has made Space Crusade rules for him.
