Hey guys, here's some wip Obliterators that I converted from the new Ogryn/Bulgryn kit. I'm not really a fan of the standard "guns melted onto a terminator" style oblits. For a long time I wanted to use WFB ogre bodies as big daemon brutes, wielding massive demonically possessed guns. Something that just spits out copious amounts of warpfire, rather than having each specific weapon type represented on the model. Lo and behold, that's pretty much how things panned out.
Anyone else used this kit yet for conversions? I found it to be a bit of a pain in the ass. All of the parts are so auto-cad machined and designed to fit with each specific model there was almost no interchangeability in parts. The ogryn gun arms dont fit over the bulgryn carapace armour, and each carapace armour only fits on a specific torso. Whats more, the scale is -slightly- smaller than the WFB ogre range, making arm swaps with those kits difficult. Theyre practically the same shape for the sockets, but theres a milimiter or so of size difference. Lots of greenstuff and filing down edges to fit here. Oh well, it's still a very cool kit, and has some cool bits in it.
Let me know what you guys think!

Awesome work dude, although I am a little perturbed thatt you say its a difficult kit to convert, as I have plans for some bullgryn conversions of my own to go with my newly started renegade mutant guard army

Nice work.
Yes, this kit is not really made for conversions. The weapons are molded into the arms. There are numerous arms/weapons in the kit.

Great idea. Definitely fitting to call these guys "obliterators", and better looking then the original models.

Cool I like them a lot, I got some to use as ork meganobz, but as you say they don't offer a lot of options when it comes to posing them so I've made one into a warboss, I'm making a big mek at the moment and the last will probably be another alternative warboss, I've used some of the slightly larger maxmini ork tech freak heads and they work pretty well!
I look forward to seeing yours finished!

Really nice. Somehow they don't exactly strike me as oblits, but they look cool and I'd let you use them as anything in that weight range gamewise, so lots of bonus points for cool conversions.

soooooooo much cooler than GWs design!!! i especially love the guns, very well done. the models definitely convey the image of large brute laying down massive amounts of warpfire!!
