Hi all, I used this list in a game against UltraSmurfs last night, it did very well but I feel a lot of it had to do with random bouts of very bad dice rolls from my opponent.
I don't often get to play games at 2k, how do you think it would do against other armies?
Crimson Slaughter.
HQ - CSM Lord, Daemon Heart , SoC, Bike, P.Fist, L.Claw, MoN.
HQ - Sorcerer, M.lvl 3, SoC, Balestar.
Troops - 7 x Plague Marine, 2 x Plasma Gun, Power Axe on champ, Rhino, Dirge Caster.
Troops - 7 x Plague Marine, 2 x Plasma Gun.
Troops - 20 x Cultists
Fast - Baledrake
Fast - 5 x Chaos Bikers, MoN, 2 x Melta gun, L.Claw on champ. (Escorting the Lord)
Heavy - 8 x Havocs, 4 x Autocannons
Heavy - Vindicator, Daemonic Possession, Siege Shield, Combi-bolter, Dirge Caster.
Heavy - 2 x Obliterators, MoN, VotlW.
Daemon Allies
HQ - Great Unclean One, M.lvl 3, 2 x Greater Rewards (Balesword being one.)
Troops - 10 x Pink Horrors.

Well for 2k that's DFOC so you need 4 troops min, easy fix just make the group of 20 cultists x2 10 units. The chaos sorcerer is just there for the prescience so drop him to lvl2. And really more troops the better.
Don't want to suggest more drakes because its boring.

Isn't Dual force org optional, if not, I know now! But yeah, swapping to 2 units of 10 is fine. Agreed, more drakes is boring! Prescience yes, but also really wanting Invisibility to throw on the Lord and his biker buddies.

Oh, man! You don't want to take a single vindicator. That's like taking a single helbrute: its seems like you're getting a lot, a Str 10 AP 2 large blast for 120 points, but it needs armor saturation. You need two vindicators. Three is usually too much points put into 24" guns for a CSM Codex that is already very short range. Find the points for a second vindicator or drop it for something else. I've seen 10 batreps where the CSM player takes a single vindicator and it never kills anything. You should throw that second PM squad in a rhino too Who are you going to be giving re-rolls with the sorcerer?

Well, the only reason I took the one Vindicator is purely to bring it in late as we were playing the diagonal deployment (it was a rematch where we agreed, same deployment, same mission but we could change a few units here and there). Rolls in and takes out a big chunk of troops with the drake mopping up what was left, it worked perfectly. Otherwise it would of been another 2 Oblits. The Vindicator died on turn 4.
The re-rolls were all directed at the autocannon havocs to until the Thundefire Cannon thing died. I used one turn to cast it on lascannon firing Oblits, to take out a predator. Rest of the turns it was back on the havocs taking shots at his flyers.

double force org is definately not compulsory! Wow, 6th is almost over and peiople are still stressing about DFOC,..
I wouldn't be banking on getting invisibility with a sorceror, your odds are poor, and annoying so much stuff ignores cover now that invisibility has lost its lustre (still great in combat tho.)
Forewarning is however a 50% odds spell, and a 4++ is solid for a lot of units.
If you really want invisibility belakor is your man/thing.
I like the list... but I find the GUO too slow, unless he's there to block off assaults, which he isn't in a chaos assault list. . a daemon prince or belakor might be better.
I kindof agree about the lone vindicator. also pairs of oblits are a bit vulnerable at a lowly ld8. I would...
drop the vindicator,
split the oblits.
take a hellbrute, and split the cultists to form a hellcult.
on the topic of divination, Scriers gaze and precognition are also fantastic. (precognition allowed my sorceror with the same build to get through 12 rounds of combat against instant death weapons without a scratch..) Automatically Appended Next Post: The sorceror could use a movement option, such as a jump pack or bike.
