My plan was to have the runesmith with the longbeards, and the thane with the hammerers. Its 1501 points. I know there could potentially be better options than the ironbreakers but I wanted them in a list.

Thane bsb 90
grugni banner 60

General
Runesmith w/shield & rune of stone 68
Dispel 25

29 Long beards kitted /shields 407

Ironbreakers
20 kitted 310
Rune of stoicism 35

Hammerers
20 kitted 310

Gyro 80

Organ gun 120
Rune of accuracy 25

I think the Iron breakers and Hammerers are way to small, they need more numbers to be effective.

Also where is the BSB going to deploy? You will need a cannon or 2. Also consider getting x2 on the Ro spell breaking.

Personally, for a 1500 point list, the unit sizes are fine. I dunno how important a cannon is at this points level; you have a ton of S6 (S7 on the charge) attacks in melee to deal with the few Monsters and such you'll see at that points level. I think the Organ Gun and Gyrocopter are more important that this points level since you don't have any other way to either get rid of chaff or thin down enemy units before close combat.

As to your concerns, there's nothing wrong with Ironbreakers. They're still S5 on the charge, and S4 isn't terrible against most things that aren't AS2 or better. Just be careful to pick and choose which fights they go into.
