Thanks Graven! Wedding is in T-Minus 5 days. I hope everything is taken care of. We've busted our asses preparing. The kitchen still needs cleaned before company arrives. I'm a bit nerved if I'm honest.
In the meantime, I wait/ I think.
I have all this currently multi-colored area, how should the workspaces be arranged? How would a dream terrain-builders' workshop be set up?

Lots of display shelves deep enough for your work. Possibly theme the shelves. Walls painted a nice mid tone as backdrop for pics. Table to set up and play test your amazing work. Only has to be 4x4 max now, lots of games being played on 2x2 boards. Possibly storage under the table for battle boards. And multiple lighting so it all looks amazing.
Just a thought.

Shelves are definitely a must. I'll build an 8x4 game table, one a bit fancier than the old one which I left at the rental house. like the old one, the new one will have reversable boards, to quickly allow for a 4x4 game with wood/felt for drinks, dice-rolling, and books.
Lighting...that's something I'm just not sure of yet. I'll start with a plug-in temporary-type 4 tube shop light, see how it looks with daylight tubes, and expand. I've thought of recessed lighting, cans, so many options...
Storage..storage is so key. I have the extra storage room down here, but yeah, I'll want it to do double duty as display as well...again, many options
I'm focusing on the work area immediately now though.
The most important feature will be the stereo system placement. I need Stereo (or mono) sound wherever I am.
Upstairs, that same far wall:
And thanks Doc! I appreciate it!

I have some ideas about actual work station styles, but depends on how mad you are. Given it's you......
Spray booth with extraction.
A specific are for flocking etc. With a tray under for catching materials. I will link the general principle later, but think a holey surface with a tray under and a vacuum cleaner providing suction. You could try looking it up. I am on my phone, Izzy Swan on youtube. Look up his sanding table.and for that matter his shop vac and disc sander.
Get a large flat piece of steel for a cutting area, then you can use magnets to assist with gluing and cutting.
Peg board or that slotted stuff from shops so you can have a very flexible wall shelving system for paints etc.
And I have an amateur set up drying area. Bit of foam insulation and a heat lamp and a fan. Cuts drying time dramatically especially on those big projects.
Last sound proofing for airbrush and shop vac.

@ Cam I've actually thought about an airbrush booth, that white rectangle you see at the back of the room is just a peice of foamcore covering the crawl-hole to the crawlspace under the other part of the house. I need to get some thick foam and make a proper seal for that hole, but it could easily be converted with some HVAC duct to exhaust outide. I only ever use acrylics, so ventillation isnt really that important. Now if I get into oil weathering and using stinky thinners..that's a different story.
For flocking and sand, I just use a little metal tray, that always lets you recover the excess and re-use it. But this gadget sounds interesting. I do love gadgets.
I don't like the wear proper cutting mats put on X-Acto blades, metal would be even worse, but the magnet idea has merits
Oh Yeah, Peg Board or Slat board would be ideal. Thing is, that back wall is poured concrete, so anything attached will need either really strong liquid nails or I'll have to drill anchors into the concrete, and I don' t know about that, I don't even have a hammer-drill, and you need one for that type of work, unless you have access to those nail guns powered by .22 shells for that purpose.
As for a drying area, I had a fan and a wooden lazy-susan thing at the old workshop, I'll definitely have something a bit more permanent. As for sound, I have a quiet Badger Compressor, not a problem really. Shop Vacs make noise, not much I can do about that really.
@Max- thanks bud!
@Shas- oh yeah- gotta have that

I was thinking of flat space- you NEVER have enough. I know I need separate areas for modeling, painting, stock/sheet/strip storage, and I'd also like a large island-type, seat-height workbench for large project work. Whatever I estimate I need for flat surface, I should double it. OK! Ladies and Gentlemen! We are Married!
Ladygeek and I want to thank everyone for their blessings they have given! It was a small affair, we rented a small chapel, She walked out to the Throne Room Music from Star Wars, the ceremony was a silly, 9 minute simplicity. There was an over-abundance of food, everyone ate and drank their fill, and danced to great music. Everyone seemed very, genuinely happy. Everything was cleaned up and we did it all debt-free! Our Lush life truly is beginning!

Also a Lego cake is a very appropriate way to celebrate a nerd wedding did you order that?

Congrats on the wedding.
On the topic of workspace:
I have my construction and painting areas separate. Keeps the bits, dust, filings, etc. away from the paint. If I had your space, I’d put a paint setup on one side, build/craft bench on the other side, and storage/display/game space in the middle. Shelves wherever I could cram more in. More light then needed. Beer fridge if possible.
They make workbenches with built in pegboard. (mine when it was new and clean) Helps a lot for keeping things vaguely organized.
I agree on never having enough flat space. My painting table was formally used to mat/frame pictures, and is vast. Plenty of space to clutter up. Seeing how often I get games in at home (once every 5-6 years) my 4x8 does time as a base for my photos and served as a spot for my terrain work.
