Well, after painting an army in black and red I wanted to try something different and see if I can do a better job. I did head swaps on all of them without helmets. The heads are from a blister of heads from Reaper. The Sister Super was a Seraphim before I converted her. The priest is a Warrior Acolyte I put a hood on. I am happy with the results, what do you think?

Decent scheme and some nice conversions, you must have gotten the hacksaw out for these! Heads seem a little bit derpy though [maybe the massive lips?], even more so than the standard heads, and maybe a touch too big?

I agree that the sisters look a bit too happy for the grim darkness of the far future, but the paint scheme and conversions are awesome!

Too happy? What fills you with warm fuzzies more than the warm glow of a burning heretic?

Actually good point, they don't seem very grim and dark do they?

Although there's nothing you can do about it, I feel that I need to add the following: the more I look at them, the more I get the feeling the helmeted heads are smaller than the ones without helmet...

1400 points of EW/MW Italians (FoW)
2200 points of SoB and Inquisition (40K)
1000 points of orks (40K)
Just starting out with Ultramarines (30K)

Nicely painted but oh my GOD those heads are awful.

Yes, they make my eyes hurt, I prefer my SoBs with helmets, or less derpy heads

Thanks for the honest feedback, but I an uncertain what you mean with 'derpy' heads. I like these heads, I feel the original heads were small and largely concealed by hair making them difficult to paint with any detail. But to each their own.

The hair is a pain to paint around and does conceal the features, yeah. The helmeted heads do seem smaller, although neither head seems overly out of scale.

Do continue painting and sculpting as you wish-your models.

Besides, it encourages the rest of us to stop procrastinating and actually do something.

I don't think its the heads themselves that are derpy, so much as the bottom lip of every unhelmeted sister is far too large. They would benefit massively if you used a bit of flesh colour to thin their lips down a bit.

Other than that, some nice models.

Why must I always choose beween certain death and probable death.

Hum, I can try that.

Agreed with the above sentiments, absolutely beautiful apart from the faces, your helmeted ones and the "book bearer" (cant remember the name of them) look excellent though

I like them I have been trying to figure out a color scheme for ages and just haven't settled on anything I like...I prefer darker colors (reds, blacks, bronze/gold etc) but the purple and white looks nice

I agree that the heads aren't working for me. I think the lips are too large, the eyes are weird (they all look brain-damaged, like lobotomized hospital patients just standing around waiting for pudding...) and the one in the dead middle (fourth down or fourth up) has a forehead that makes her look like a proto-human throwback.

Your paintjobs are stunning, and the heads look much less weird in the bottom pic (where they are at arm's length). All around, great stuff!

The head sprues from Reaper (I've used them myself) have always been a bit derpy, but then so are all the available female head options. It's like miniatures companies desperately want females to be funny looking. They are, however, a marked improvement over the original Sisters.

We'll, they are ment for playing, arms length is the best viewing.

Anyone tried the heads from hassle free miniatures?
