i had a discussion with a friend and he thinks if Vulkan (forgefather of salamanders) died that all the twin-linked meltas would go away!

I thought sense its a warlord trait that it would not just vanish.

But I could be wrong let me know...

A) This should have gone in YMDC, not General Discussion.

B) Vulkan doesn't make the meltas twin-linked, he makes them Master-crafted. Totally different rule, although there is almost no functional difference. (Slight change to the wording, however, means that combi-meltas now get to apply the Master-crafted rule to their bolter half as well)

C) It isn't a Warlord trait, it's a special rule. He doesn't have to be your Warlord for it to function. (And since his Warlord trait is so awful, it would probably be a good idea if he wasn't!)

D) It does not require his presence to function. They no more lose their Master-crafted status than bikes would stop being troops if Khan dies.
