Any thoughts? I chose the WLs because I prefer their models over having six tanks (fire prisms plus WSs) so they're probably staying. The farseers would sit back and support the rest of the army while the DAs rush forward, alongside the WLs. Warp Spiders would deepstrike in and pop some tanks, then the rangers and guardians would hold back-field objectives.

Farseer- Singing Spear (105 pts)
Farseer- naked (100 pts)

Troops:
7 Dire Avengers- Exarch, Power Lance and Shimmer Shield, Battle-Fortune (136 pts) W/ Wave Serpent (See Below)

5 Rangers (60 pts)
10 Guardians (90 pts)

Fast Attack:

I'm cool with everything in this list except the DAs, they don't need battle fortune, its a 4+ inv for a W1 model, not to mention it doubles his cost! You are better off dropping it for more avengers, or another unit of rangers. I would also have all the WLs be duel BL as you have gak loads of Ap2 from the avengers/spiders already.

Hope this helps!

The Twilight Zone

I agree about dropping battle fortune. You already have a 5++ from the shimmershield, no need to pay that much to get a 4++. Take more avengers for more dakka, the more the merrier when you have a shimmershield.

The guardians on foot need some kind of heavy weapon so they can do something from long range. Two farseers to support is probably a bit overkill depending on what powers you roll, but not bad. I would try to get 20 guardians in there for double heavy weapon fun and a bastion to protect the seers.

Warp spider exarches are not really built for CC. By the time you buy powerblades and stalker, you could have bought another spider and then some. The spinnerette rifle works well with fast shot, and if your sneaky you can play range games to boot. I would drop your CC gear and use your spiders to JSJ. If something charges you, pray you survive, hit and run, then shoot it dead. With the spare points, more avengers, guardians and/or spiders a la carte.

Not sure if you have them, but make sure you take dual flamers on your wraithlords for wrist weapons. Consider scatter/star over dual starcannon for the 2nd lord. Neither is wrong, just depends on your preference. With 2 seers, you will likely be able to guide/prescience as needed.

I am not a fan of star engines personally. I can only think of a handful of times where I could have used them, but most times I either want to shoot, or a regular turbo boost is sufficient. YMMV.

The most important rule of 40K-Page XVII of the 6th edition rulebook, the figure at the top right of the page. "Shake hands with your opponent and thank them for a good battle and fun experience." Then go out for a beer.
