So I have my Menoth and Circle forces, but I was thinking, why not zombies? I just find the idea of a large swarm of undead continuously coming back from the grave and soldiering on at the expense of enemy infantry to my liking. The question is, which units of zombies?

The Risen
While really cool and I love the models, due to her alliance, I guess I would need to gather a large amount of merc forces (or start a Khador or Cygnar force which does not interest me). But does anything really jump out and synergize well with this unit?

Cryx Bane Thralls
While not the standard zombies, I know they are awesome on the table combined with Gore2 and Lord Tartar. It would mean starting a Cryx army so it would be more involved. I'm not against the idea but it will take a lot more time and money. The army would definitely be thrall themed to the max.

Bog Trog Shamblers
Undead fishies, because your flushed mutant goldfish wants revenge too! No, but these guys seem really cool too. Large numbers and they're Minions that can join my Circle if I want. Are they a worth while unit? Rask's theme seems to support them but I haven't heard or seen much of Rask or his shambling buddies.

Any advice on units of zombies and/or casters that most support them?
Thanks in advance!

Um the faction Cryx? It has recursion abilities. Take Mechanithralls and Necrosurgeon & Stitch Thralls. Every mechanithrall or living slain within 5 of stitch thralls equals more mechanithralls next turn.

I would agree Cryx is the way to go. In terms of being able to run a variety of undead swarms you'll get the most bang for your buck. Really it sounds like you could get a good start on what you wanna do picking up the Cryx BB adding in a mechanithrall package and feeling out the faction from there.

It sounds to me like you want mechanithralls.

Ideally you want a caster who can help them hit and help them ignore terrain. pDenny covers both of those.

You might also consider an excarnate caster that can make more of them. But I think that leaves Severius and eGaspy and not sure either of those make mechthralls hum.

Cryx Mechathindralls are what you want. You can 50 of them in a 25pt battle.

You could also try eGoreshade - he gives every bane thrall the ability to make more banethalls

Meanwhile, if you take Terminus for Cryx, your undead get Tough as well - so even when hit, they keep getting up

Meanwhile, Alexia and Bog trots are more mop-up units really, they need bodies of the living to feed them, so it's generally just a normal army with one "zombie" unit, not quite a recycling undead horde (though with enough bodies, you can get quite a large unit). Cryx definitely has cornered the market on that, with mechanithralls and stitch thalls.

Rask is an excellent caster. He's loves Bog Trog spam so he'll give the bokor plenty of corpses to attach too.

As alwayse, I have to advertise for my beloved Skorne. We run minions better than anyone. So if you want to go all Bog Trog you can do that while rocking your obsidian statue undead and void spirits.
