I am running vanilla Space Marines. How do I bring 5 Terminators in a Drop Pod?

Do I take a minimum size tactical squad with a drop pod dedicated transport, have the tacticals run in from reserves and give the drop pod to the termies? Can I just "take" a drop pod for the Terminators?

The terminators cannot use someone else's drop pod. Only the unit it was bought for and any attached ICs can ride in a drop pod.

As for 'taking' a drop pod for the termies, is DP listed as a dedicated transport option for them? If yes, you may. If no, you may not.

The only dedicated transport options I'm seeing for Terminators are Land Raiders, so it doesn't look like it's possible. I've seen some other players say it was possible (including my local GW guy) but they must have been mistaken then.

Only Space Wolves can put Terminators in Drop Pods.

"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

I believe Spaces Wolves can buy a drop pod for their Wolf Guard and put them in terminator armor.

I thought terminators had the deep strike special rule...(at work, no book) Why would you need a drop pod for them?

Termi's do have Deep Strike, but DP's have a much reduced chance of a mishap or unfavourable scatter, and can turn up on turn 1.

But yeah, Space Wolves only (or IC's attached to squads that can take a 'Pod).

Most do. Space Wolf Termies do not. Something about not trusting such arcane tactics and preferring to fight with their feet on the ground (as Russ intended).

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.
