So it is a teleporting unit of MC's at tough 6 with a bunch of 2+ saves to tank, then they have great CC punch. between the warsythes and the MC smash, the teks all go into the warriors and are used to hunt vehicles you normally cant handle

Any chance of getting a more in-depth description of what the early deployment / movement was for Justin? Specifically where the ICs were and what units were doing what? Or maybe some general thoughts on how this version of the Spyder-star list plays?

I love the sped-up battle video with commentary over it, but it was tricky in some of those early movement phases to see what models / units were moving around in the corner that he castled into, and where the ICs were (at least before they all joined up with the Spyders on turn 2/3.

OK

Great report but my only complaint is I couldn't really follow what the spyderstar was doing the whole time.

It is nice to see an army with some thought into it beat something lame like the O'Vesa star.

So I actually left the spyders off the table turn 1 and deployed all 3 characters with one unit of 5 necron warriors and a despair tek. So I had 3 things in reserve(cultists/sorc and spyders)and 4 things deployed, not including flyers/their passengers. I deployed this unit of 9 infantry models completely out of line of sight turn 1 behind the bastion and ruins in the extreme corner of the table, so as to avoid being shot. Turn 1 I jumped zandrehk out of the star into the bastion, then used obyrons teleport ability along with zandrehk in the bastion to jump up and nightmare shroud the ovesa star while remaining out of line of sight behind the solid wall of the ruin next to the bastion. Despair teks do 2 things in this list: they provide me with an ap2 flamer for laying waste to cheap troops like eldar jetbikes/kroot/cultists/scouts and also give me a way to break non-fearless deathstars like centurion stars and ovesa star. Also they can force a morale check on riptides without beating them in close combat, and it doesn't count as a shooting attack so you just pick a unit within 18 in the shooting phase and they test. Then the spyders came on, I joined the characters to it, and TJ made the mistake to literally get in their face without having stubborn up. I subsequently charged the star in my turn 3 while taking away hit and run and giving myself furious charge. I would rather have tied him up for 2 turns, but he broke out and I failed to catch him/only consolidated 1 inch. I then jumped to the other side of the table turn 4 to force his troops off of objectives and net linebreaker.
