I am fairly new to WH40k (Early Feb) and always have wanted to play but finances got in the way (I was in middle/high school haha). So far I have played 4 games. 3 against some sort of space marine army(one had 3 superheavies, one was a full drop pod, and a stronghold fotress or w/e it was) and a tyranid army (had like 4 MC and he used a tyranid formation that can DS like 10 of his guys). Had the hardest time against the tyranids army mostly because of 3-4 MCs in my deployment zone come turn 2. I don't know what kind of armies I will be facing in the tournament and I made this list to be able to handle anything in some degree that comes my way.

Well you said it yourself, 3 troops in 1750.

I will not be the last to tell you just how great skyrays are, I would consider them if you can afford, with their seeker missiles being guided (from seer) they can do AA if the missilesides fail/don't shoot and their marker lights are good as well. Not to mention its not as squishy.

Thanks for the input. So far the HBC riptide with the buffmander does the job with the flyers coming from the reserve. Initially I had a skyray in the list (even bought the model) but I leaned toward the HBC with ewo and vt. Kill them before they shoot !

Now in regards for the troops I am contemplating of replacing all of my troops/fast attack/fortification with 2 x squad of 10 kroots and 2 Dire avenger in a naked WS. Maybe I can find 10 more points to give WS better weapons. Thoughts? If I do this my local store will probably not play with me hahaha.

Serpents need SL to be broken, anything else and their just good.

Also stick with this army, its like a tau force seeking advice from a friendly farseer and his ladz.
