Been a long while since I've posted a list, so I'm rather rusty.

Obvious notes: COB goes with the Witch Elves, Corsairs stay close by. General runs around and mucks about.

Dreadlord, Pair of Repeater Handbows, Sea Dragon Cloak, Shield, Heavy Armor, Ogre Blade, Black Amulet, Dark Pegasus 317

Supreme Sorc, lv4, Shadow, Sac Dagger, Talis of Pres, Ironcurse Icon 295

Sorceress, lv2, Dark Magic, Dispel Scroll 140

Death Hag, BSB, Cauldron, Witch Brew 330

30 Witch Elves, Full Command 360

18 Corsairs, XHW, Full Command 228

5 Dark Riders, RXB's 95

5 Cold One Knights, Mus. 160

18 Black Guard, Mus, Standard 290

War Hydra 160

5 Doomfire Warlocks 125

Army total 2500

I was thinking of dropping a lv on the sorc and dropping the Sac Dagger to beef up the corsairs a bit instead, or just drop the Dark Riders altogether.

I think you should drop hydra for more Black Guards.
Also 2 groups of dark riders work waaay beter than 1.

I'd consider swapping out Dark Magic from your Level Two, in favor of Lore of Beasts. You have a lot of S3/T3 infantry in this list, so Wyssan's might go a long way for you. I'm not sold on small units of Cold One Knights, so I would personally suggest shelving them and adding a second unit of Dark Riders. Also, there's no drawback to giving your Dark Riders shields now, so I'd say that they're almost a mandatory inclusion at this point. Putting the Cauldron of Blood in with 30 Witch Elves almost seems like overkill, but I don't have experience with that unit, so I can't comment on it too much. Otherwise, the Black Guard are a little weedy, and you really should find points for a Champion (being able to tank the attacks from a Chaos Lord or Vampire Count in a challenge can be huge on your Stubborn, but lightly armored Black Guard).

Where you're going to hurt is against heavy armor. S4 from the Black Guard only goes so far. At least give them the Razor Standard; it doubles the chance they'll get wounds through 1+ armor.

Yeah this list is not terribly great even in my own opinion. There's too much I want to fit into it I think.

I'd love suggestions on where to shave points to better focus on it's strengths!

The Lair of Vengeance....Poole.

I'd drop the Peg Lord. Or give him the cloak of twilight instead of the amulet, and a 1+ rerollable. That way, he's survivable in combat AS WELL as against shooting and has killing blow.

Otherwise, I'd personally drop the witches. They do what every other unit in the army does, but are less durable at it. Corsairs are better if you want a core fighty unit.

And drop the black guard and hydra. They both do what the core fighty stuff does, and get some executioners. They fill a niche roll that means you don't have to rely on shadow magic to deal with 1+ armour saves.
