What would a Tyranid bastion look like and how would you make one?

Maybe a big capillary tower?

What kits would you use? Loads of apoxiesculpt and green stuff?

I'd probably sculpt it from the ground up. Otherwise you could make an "infested" bastion conversion.

I would start with a coffee can or other shape of similar size to a bastion, and then work in air dry clay, apoxiesculp etc.

Put in lots of nid bits and guns etc.

I would watch Aliens and make a bastion that is infested kinda like how the aliens infested the colonies. I would think the best way would be to scratch build it with foam and stuff.

Expensive? a bit. But based on his previous work, I think it will be incredible.

An infested bastion (i.e. an Imperial bastion which the nids have occupied) is by far the easiest option, as it can't trigger any rules arguments. But also fairly expensive.

For casual games, sure, you can just make a big alien blob around Bastion size out of anything, say it counts-as a Bastion, and that's fine.

But for serious play, a scratch-built Bastion (for nids, orks, or any other race) needs to be very close to the right size, including parapet, weapons, doors, etc etc - which may be more trouble than its worth.

Easiest way would be to get an imperial bastion then greenstuff Tyranid gunk all over it a la Aliens goop, as a previous poster mentioned. Another option would be to check eBay for old toy kits for the aliens franchise, I remember them having a bunch of big gross alien play sets that would work great with a repaint.

Thank you all. Lots of good ideas and I will definitely do something custom even if it is just oversculpt onto an official bastion.
