As the title states what is the difference between death riders and rough riders? Eg stats, rules, points, special rules etc
I dont have any of thr FW books and only the old varient IG codex I really want to use calvalry in my custom regiment and by the sounds of things rough riders are atrocious and the death riders are far better

Can't explicitly post rules and such here, and you would be better off posting in the 40k discussions than general. Either way there are other places you could get the rules of course.

They're pretty similar to standards though, and I wouldn't exactly say the changes make them great.

If your attack is going too well, you have walked into an ambush

The easy way is always mined

I understand about posting rules etc on the forum, is there any generic way for anyone to describe the differences? Also should I contact a mod to have this page moved?
I will buy the books at some point in the very near future I just want to get the miniatures etc first

Death riders have two wounds and two attacks, carapace armor, a 6+ FNP, and re-roll dangerous terrain. They also have WS 4 and ignore morale tests from suffering 25% shooting casualties because of the DKoK army rules. Finally, you get to take a whole platoon of them in a fast attack slot, so you aren't competing with all of the other options. You only pay 15 points per model for all of this, making them much better than standard rough riders. They hit harder, and they don't get wiped off the table by bolter fire before they can charge. The only drawback is that you can't take special weapons, but taking BS 3 special weapons instead of lances on codex rough riders is a bad idea anyway.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

The Siege Regiment ruels are avaiable for free on FW website http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Downloads/Product/PDF/d/dkksiegelist.pdf

Just look for the entry of the Death Rider, or read peregrine post.
