I'm pretty new to marines, but I played a couple years with tyranids. I keep finding myself getting blown to pieces and losing hope by the second turn. So far, the tactics I use that DO work are putting bray'arth in the storm Raven and dumping him on something scary so he can wipe it off the board, and the command squad with Vulkan has yet to be killed for 8 straight games, wiping out everything I send them at. Past that though, I get wrecked. This list needs a major overhaul. Any tips or suggestions?

Too many points on characters in my opinion, and 5 man tactical squads are useless. Command squads are also pretty crap, because you have to take wounds on useful guys.your body count is way way way too low for 2000 pts

-successor- 12000pts
-Cadia- just starting, based on
'Gunheads'- 1000pts

This list is not focused. Choose a theme and stick with it. I would try to stay with the armour theme and run This

Vulkan
Command Squad OR Assault Terminators
Land Raider Redeemer

10x Man Tac
Melta / Multi Melta / Combi Melta
Rhino

10x Man Tac
Flamer / Multi Melta / Combi Flamer
Rhino

10x Man Tac
Flamer / Multi Melta / Combi Flamer
Rhino

StormRaven

Vindicator

Vindicator

Thats like 1850. Its a lot of Armour in their face w/ 3 Solid Scoring Units, a beatstick unit in a Land Raider, 2 Vindicators, and a good flyer. I'd add a scout squad w/ snipers in the backfield and maybe another with shotguns to drop out of the StormRaven

Thank you! That's a lot closer to the play style I like to use so far.

I play against a lot of wraith eldar lately, so unfortunately my land raider never seems to make it even halfway up the board because its a giant fire magnet. What are your thoughts on switching it for maybe a rhino, freeing up points for a 10 man stern guard with drop pod?

What is exactly destroying it? A Rhino is a too weak because if they destroy (which they will) you'll have to walk up the field which won't work well.

I tried out the revised list with 3 rhinos full of tacticals and the redeemer lasted until turn 4. Just some target saturation basically.

I'm gonna try a 3 mm attack bike squad. I used 3 mm speeders in my last game, and while they worked great, once my opponent realized how hard they were hitting, they were toast. I'd rather have a 2 wound bike that didn't have to deal with a damage table any time it got hit by a strength 8 single shot.
