Tonight is a Khador because Oz is indecisive:

Vlad
A Decimator
Man-o-war bombards
A battle mechanik
Winter guard riflemen
Either a mortar or field gun

I am in love with the man-o-war bombard, and decided I would make it work. After a good deal of back and forth with /tg/ this is what we came up with. I am hoping it is a decent list, debating on whether or not to include Joe, and if I do whether this should lead me to replace the riflemen with standard infantry. Joe makes me feel like I should lean more towards the mortar as well. I would prefer not to do this as taking a mortar instead of a field gun would leave the decimator as my only anti high ARM in my list, and I feel like I have enough anti infantry as is.

Any advice? I know I will be at a disadvantage against high ARM lists, but Bombards are bad at this, and they are my favorite, or rather new favorite models.

Apologies for the abrupt change, but I had not seen the bombards before, and I have to say nothing in Warmahordes captures my imagination quite like these models.

Right now, you kind of lack any way to kill armor (besides Vlad going full ham and the Decimator with full focus load). Your anti-infantry potential is also currently rather inaccurate, and could use Kovnik Joe to help out the Winterguard... everything. Blasts are nice, but against high armor infantry they'll just walk through unphased.

Also, what point level are you looking at playing? That should help us give suggestions as to what to take.

I have been in a large back and forth with both /tg/ and the warmahordes general thread here on dakka, both groups seem to think I need to focus more on infantry as Khador jacks suck. I am oddly okay with this as I am not a big fan of jacks anyway.

Everyone keeps pushing melee units as high ARM killers, so what unit is best. I wanted to go all man-o-war bombards and winter guard, as this looks most like a professional military in my opinion. I would not mind fielding massed winter guard, but I doubt winter guard can take on jacks very well. Granted this is an assumption based on their models and not knowledge of the actual game.

As for what infantry units I would like to go with for melee, I kind of like the iron fangs, and would not mind going with them.

/tg/ seemed to be in favor of Vlad The Dark Prince, as apparently he makes shooting better. I would love to hear other suggestions as to warcasters that go with bombards.

Also, let's shoot for 35 points to start.

Units I am now convinced I want in my list:

Man-o-war bombards
Winter guard riflemen
Kovnik Joe
Widow makers
Vlad The Dark Prince

Possibly some Iron Fang Pikemen

eIrusk loves his bombards. If you use Fire for Effect he can give them both boosted attack die. RAT 4 is a lot better when you roll 3D6.

And how dare you use Vlad without Drago. He will be most upset, plus with Vlad he is an absolute beast.

Since you seem to like the warcaster Vlad The Dark Prince (also call pVlad or Vlad1), I suggest you to have a look at the website BattleCollege, which is a big library of evey units related to Warmachines and Hordes. You can learn many things from it.

I don't really see how Man-O-War Bombards would be benefical to Vlad, I think they would slow him down. He is a very fast and very unpredictable warcaster. I feel like it would be a rock in his shoes... from there... Man-O-War Demolition Corps would be a better investment in points and play style for Vlad. Remember... Man-O-War have very low DEF, so they are very but VERY easy to hit and they have an average 16 DEF. Without their 8 boxes... they would have been dead at first turn... so if you don't play them carefully you will lose them right away. Expect to lose some very quickly. Don't be afraid to spread them a little bit. The keyword for it... If they shoot of focus on them... they don't focus on other units! If they survive... well you better have a Man-O-War Demolition Corps to clear your way otherwise...

Winter Guard, Kovnik Joe and Widow Makers are probably the best way to start a Khadorian Army. They worth their money! Even if you choose another warcaster they will have their places.

Since Vlad feat is mostly good with Warjacks... nothing beat the Spriggan, not even another Spriggan!

I guess normal Vlad is most likely to be his caster.

I'd recommend Doom Reavers with pVlad. You're pretty much guaranteed berserk attacks under signs and portents. Depending on how many points you have to work with, i'd recommend the UA and/or Fenris as well.
