Searched but only found hits for the old Imperial Guard codex. Wanted to get some verification as a sanity check.
The old Imperial Guard codex and it's FAQ required an entire platoon to remain in reserve if any of it did. So if I wanted to put a PCC in a vendetta or valkyrie I had to reserve the rest of the platoon as well.
That doesn't seem to be the case anymore and since the rules for putting things in reserve as well as rolling for reserves refers only to "units" I assume I can keep only part of a platoon in reserve?
Also that means different units within a platoon roll for reserves independently?
Also means if I get the warlord trait where I can put D3 units in reserve I can't call an entire platoon only one of these D3 units?
I know blobs count as one unit but a platoon will always consist of at least two "units" as the PCC can't blob.
If all this is true it really cleans up platoons in terms of mechanics. I suppose a lot of the old issues came with the one mission where you could deploy one "troop choice" and also Al'Rahem's outflanking platoon that was made up of several units.
Okay, I knew the old FAQ had no effect but wanted to make sure I wasn't going crazy or missing something. My first two games with C:AM so far I held entire platoons in reserve to put the PCC in a vendetta because of old habits. I reread the reserve rules and platoon entry and wanted to make sure I wasn't going to be cheating if I broke up the platoon next time between deployed and reserved.
