Having recently discovered the Imperial Knights codex, and constantly playing a Tau-Tide player I'm considering being that guy and fielding a pure knight army. I have read the codex, and In my 1500 point list I can fit in four knights. But I have just read the 'knightly ranks' section. It says 'Players that want to include Knights apparent or Seneschals in their games must roll a dice for each.......' this is where my confusion starts. If you take an Imperial knight, or a primary detachment of imperial knights do you HAVE to roll for each Knight? Or is it your option to roll for each knight?

Some clarity would be greatly appreciated. Because as I understand it at the moment, I can just keep them as standard knights and not run the risk of Knight apparents....

The table is optional.

If, your Primary Detachment is Knights, however, the Warlord is automatically a Seneschal (no roll needed).

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

Also if you choose to use the table , the 3 you have all must roll. No cherry picking.

That table still is a little annoying:
An optional Rule containing a trigger that could be perceived as mandatory....

8th made it so I can no longer sway Tau onto the side of Chaos, but they will eventually turn aside from their idea of the Greater Good to embrace the Greatest of pleasures.

Still good fun though. 1/6th change for a Powerful or very weak Knight, 2/3rd's chance for no change. Good Times
