so I'm facing an eldar army tomorrow and the usual list he brings is 4 waveserpents, 2 wraithknights and a mantle jetbike farseer.
chances are something will be dropped in favour of a night spinner, he likes to tailor his lists somewhat.
I'm usually runnin a speed freek list, but i want to beat him & beat him good for his spammy ways. so I want to make myself an ork firing line.
I'm thinking heavy support will be 3 units of 3 big guns, comprising 6 kannons and 3 zzap guns, behind an aegis with a quad gun.
elites will be lootas, of which I have 20, and some tankbustas may come in. with no way to get them a battlewagon now, I may put them in a warkopta & hope I get to move it.
troops will still be trukkas, 2 of which will contain warbosses with powerklaws. they'll be the backup for if the kannons and zzapp guns can't deal with the knights. trukks will have rokkits on them, boys will be shoota boys.
so the questions are:
will this lot work?
am I missing anything vital? I see no point having a KFF as the waveserpent gunships will kill the trukks regardless.
should I replace the aegis with a skyshield? 10 points less and the big guns get a higher position & a save against serpent shields, which will still be effective against T7 grots.
should I run the boys in large squads instead? if I have no vehicles his wraithknights will be slightly less effective, but with scatter lasers on their shoulders anyway, all I'd be doing is losing my ability to get to him.
should I bring my bikerboss with a unit of stormboys? they've been pretty good in the past, and when I run them with a KFF in a trukk tagging along they survive a bit better.
