After ironing out some flaws with my Salamanders army list (no super land raider redeemers for me) I found myself with a glut of points. I would like to use the remaining points to include some Sisters of Battle allies (their fluff is pretty cool). I was thinking something involving a canoness, some battle sisters, an immolator or two and maybe a priest.

I understand that this is not the greatest tactical move, however, I don't intend on playing at tournaments (the only people I play against are personal friends).

Any help would be appreciated.

EDIT: I am more looking for advice on what Sisters of Battle units to field, although if you really wish to critique the Salamanders aspect you may (if so there is a completely separate topic for that)

Here is the Salamanders list->2000 points is the goal

With He'Stan all "models" meltas are essentially twin linked.

You could consider non-meltas on your sergeants. Also you could have more sergeants if you have squads of 5 and therefore... more characters.

Now I don't remember if sternguard are relentless, or if heavy flamers are "heavy"... but the whole snapshooting template thing... might take melta guns and flamers. I mean both are twinlinked anyway wtith sallies CT and Vulk

I've been considering taking a promethium pipes fortification with mine. Twin linked TORRENTS!!!!!

I'd suggest one more pod, or one less. Two is too "thinking outside the box" for me to fully comprehend.

What squads does Vulcan work well in. He is only in the Sternguard in mine due to a process of elimination.

I'll get you started on the SOB allies a bit:
- In nearly all cases you're better off taking Jakobus or Celestine over a regular canoness. Since you're looking for a priest, I'd suggest Jakobus.
- You'll probably want a few F/HF BSS or a single F/HF 20 strong blob with a few priests stacked in.
- Your fast attack slot gotta be filled. If you field Celestine, take a seraphim squad with four hand flamers. If not, take a 5-woman dominion melta squad in a TL MM immolator or repressor (FW).
- For heavy support, there's one option and one option only: take an exorcist. Preferably with storm bolter, as the 5 points get you a 4+ save against weapon destroyed results.
- Don't take elites
- Take at least one priest (ideally not counting Jakobus) for every sister squad you have.

Thanks for the help. With your help I'm thinking perhaps including Celestine for extra flame goodness as my HQ. That being said I'm not sure this is going to sit within my remaining points. I have about 400 points (I could cut units from the main force for extra points if required). I'm not entirely sure that I could afford (in points) 2 sisters squads (and their weapon and priest upgrades), unique HQ (and any attached specialist units) and an immolator. I don't normally run allies so I'm guessing that I have allotted too few points for the Sisters to be effective.

400 Points you say?

Celestine - 135
Exorcist - 125
5 seraphim w. 2x2 hand flamers - 95
5 sisters w. F/HF - 75

Totals at 430 points. I think this is the smallest list you can get to work as allies.
