Sword-Wielding Bloodletter of Khorne

Hay guys,
I was pretty unimpressed with the state of 40k a few months back when escalation dropped and all the data slates and supplements started coming out. I could just see the game degenerating into flyers vs d weapons or even really unit specific formations. So I took a break and was wondering how the game had settled down.
-does your local gaming community use many restrictions currently in regular games?
-are formations, supplements, forge world or apoc monsters common in popular lists?
-have any good battle missions come out to challenge the kill point frenzy?
-Anything important I might of missed?
Cheers all.

Our gaming club has a house rule: don't be a jerk.
Escalation, destroyer weapons, ally shenanigans and dataslates could all potentially ruin a friendly pick-up game, so we just announce those at the start.
The most popular dataslate you'll see is probably the Skyblight tyranid one, which (I believe) allows any flyer to return to the game on a 4+.

1400 points of EW/MW Italians (FoW)
2200 points of SoB and Inquisition (40K)
1000 points of orks (40K)
Just starting out with Ultramarines (30K)
Four 1000-2500 point forces for WHFB (RIP)
One orc team (Blood Bowl) |

Just the gargoyles get that. They also always count as having an objective if they are near one, you can't contest against them.

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.
Everything is made up and the points don't matter. 40K or Who's Line is it Anyway?
