Heyo!
So I may have some extra dimes to throw around on toys this summer and I want to take my Raven Guard allies up to a full detachment, and I was wondering if any RG savvy pros had any tips for a budding Raven. Here's what I got so far, and a few ideas I had as to where to take the list.
HQ - Chaplain on Bike w/ Primarchs Wrath
T1 - 5x Marines w/ flamer, grav pistol & p-sword on vet sarge
T2 - same as above
F1 - 3x Attack Bikes w/ HBs
E1 - 10x Vanguard Vets w/ packs, 2 p-axes, 2 p-fists
H1 - 6x Devastators w/ 2 lascannon, 1 FML, 1 HB
That's about 1k in points right there and here is what I wanted to do with it...
1: Add in Captain Shrike to roll with the Vets
2: Bring the Tacs up to six and put em in Razorbacks
3: Add in two 5 man Scout teams for objective holding, bolters, camo cloaks...
4: Add some cheap drop pod solutions, like 2 dreads for the assault and a Tac squad for the roll
This way I can infiltrate my scouts onto objectives and Shrike into a tasty turn 2 assault, scout move like crazy to cover them and be in firing range with everything on turn 1. Use the classic drop pod distraction, and with any luck catch the enemy between a three pronged pincer attack along both flanks and the rear. Using my RG as allies I've been able to control pretty much whatever table side I put them on, so I'm thinking this sort of extreme mobility will be rewarded much more if executed on a larger scale.
I am however kind of stumped as to what to do with the rest of my Fast and Heavy slots... I suppose I could just fill them out with more bikes and devs...
What are your thoughts?
