My gaming group are moving into infinity, so I decided I liked the corredigor nomad box and went with that.

From a rules perspective I have no idea where to start, but you can get them for free I believe?

What I'm after is some general info on the nomad faction and what their strengths and play style are like. I like the look of the zero snipers and will probably get one or two of those chaps.

Yup, the rules are availble for free to download from:
http://www.infinitythegame.com/infinity/en/downloads/

You'll want at least the quick start rules and army lists.

Human Sphere was the 2nd book published (additional units to add to the lists, too - and introduced link teams).

3rd edition is coming this year sometime, also and the rules and army lists part of that will be put up online some time after the book comes out.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.

Here's a couple of things about factions in this thread.

http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/556384.page

I got a boatload of hellcats when I started as I loved the models. But I've found I really only use the boarding shotgun or hmg variant depending on what else I bring. Both are good but for different reasons, the BS is cheap but still powerful in the right circumstances and an hmg anywhere is just awesomesauce.

The main reason I don't field too many is I only want up to 2 guys in a 10man combat group in reserve. And regardless of anything else, I will ALWAYS take a tomcat, usually Carlotta. So that leaves 1 slot for a hellcat if desired. The flexibility of tomcats is their shining beacon and also packing a direct template weapon. Climbing plus is fantastic.

Another all round favourite are intruders ofc. Awesome model, awesome game presence. Basic load out is still sweet if you want to chuck all your toys in a wildcat link, but sometimes I actually feel bad taking the hmg one as it can dominate. I also favour the hacking intruder, but reading around other places not many others seem too... Ofc he is an offensive hacker as he's got no bts, but I'd rather immobilise that asawira first. Plus you can camo hack so its not too risky to do it in plain sight of your target.

Another favourite I have is that in the corrigedor sectorial you unlock Tearleach McMurrough. He's a fearsome warband unit mainly due to his speed, super jump and ability to shrug off one wound. The notion of cc being a good option is a fallacy though, sure it'll hit hard, if it hits... Chain rifles always hit so, take your pick.

And then there's also wildcat links which a cool, like all links are from the bonus it provides. But on their own they are kinda lame. When I'm not playing with a sectorial, so just general nomads, I normally use the wildcats as alguacils or moderators if a take any.

I have never tried the msr (multi sniper rifle) zero. I often use the msr spektr though. With the additional hit modifier of TO camo, extra bs and the hidden deployment option I think he's quite worth it. He is more expensive, but I find I normally run out if swc before points with nomads, so with both being 1.5swc I opt for the spektr. In reality I only run zeros when I am trying to hide a prowler, the most I've ever done with zeros is troll around with mines, which can be good but... Orders are precious.

If your attack is going too well, you have walked into an ambush

The easy way is always mined

Update-

First two games were a draw and a win, close to two wins.

My list had 2 wildcats, alguacils with 2 intruders( LT and a HMG)

The game is really quite fun once you get the hang of it, i've got a sin-eater and a spektr ive yet to use.

The intruders are badass tough, on the second game my HMG got killed by an ARO after missing 4 shots lol.

I've yet to pull any special moves or clever little moves with them but they really do shine in a cluster fudge firefight.

This is one of the reasons I love this game. High burst weapons can brute force through firefights, but it's quite easy after range, cover and skill/gadget modifiers to be on the back foot and lose in ARO. You're still better off trying to get the drop on someone from behind that brute force through a face to face roll. Positioning always matters.

There's nothing more surprising when you start than watching a HMG toting badass stroll out to fire a full burst at a line grunt, only to receive in return a crit to the face.

It's annoying to play them in a force against force game, which is basically annihilation.

that being said, I've loved the wildcat link team so far. hellcats are fun, but they can miss their mark sometimes. tomcats are fun, but they don't have link team. intruders and mobile brigada are expensive.
