So let's say someone puts a thread in the wrong forum. How do you notify a mod to move it? Do you report and ask for it to be moved or is there a different way to do it?

Just use the yellow triangle and input that you'd like to have the thread moved. At least that's how I handle such things.

That's about the only time I have ever used the report button (other than a couple very rare times where a topic seemed to get completely out of control in regards to politics/religion).

Just hit the triangle of friendship and say something polite along the lines of "this was posted in X, but I think it might be a better fit in Y."

That's the way to do it!
