Subject: What suppliers actually have sable brushes?

I've been a big fan of Dick Blicks house brand sable brushes, but they've been on back order for nearly a year now. I've noticed that they blame a current shortage of Kolinsky Sable due to import regulations.
I've checked a few sites that I know used to sell brushes (secret weapon, war store) but Nobody seems to have kolinsky sable in stock. Does anybody know of a vendor that does?

Games Workshop has Kolinsky Sable brushes but many people look for smaller companies, they work fine for me as long as you store them properly (not in the bottom of a cup of water- like I do stupidly for weeks at a time, bending the brush.)

Games workshop dont make brushes, they rebrand someone elses.
And they are quite a small company, look at Windsor and Newton... another Uk based company, who actually do make brushes. Theyre a huge company in the art supplies world.
I dont know about where to get kollinsky sables in USA atm because of the import regulations being stupid tbh. But I can suggest Rosemary & Co, another UK bases smaller company, they offer what 90% as good as a W&N series 7 for half the price.
As for citadel brushes.. just dont bother tbh. The Eavy Metal ones are actually quite decent, but the standard citadel ones arent worth half of their cost.

I saw the Rosemary & Co. Obviously that's a bit longer of a delivery time from the UK, and we'll want to bundle an order, but I might look at them if people vouch for the quality.
Like I said, i've been using essentially "store brand" Kolinsky sable brushes, and they're fine. I'm not paying for a name, I'm paying for a quality of materials and construction. Automatically Appended Next Post: And every review of the Citadel brushes seems to be a refrain of "not as bad as you'd think, but not worth the price."

Not in the US! The last few I've gone to have been bare bones for good sable brushes. I also don't want to drive cross town on a goose chase.

I tend to call first. That said, I got my w&n brushes shipped from the UK (eBay), took less than 2 weeks and better than local pricing.

You can order some from Secret Weapon Miniatures. They have some Raphael 8404. Good stuff.
