They look nice. I bought a game mat from Front line Gaming and enjoy it as well. I enjoy the look, feel and ease of transport these kinds of items provide.

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby.

im actually planning to make one when i get to that point. I cant stand having massive open areas of blank board, or at my FLGS just flock roll with no detail, because it looks out of place with all the terrain. But adding anything to break it up adds too much terrain quickly lol.

These are nice, but im a pennypincher lol. Im not the best craftsman/painter, but i do better than the average joe i see at most stores so i know i can make my own and make it look decent lol.

An ork with an idea tends to end with a bang.

Wish my local store would splurge on a few of those. Playing on bumpy felt or a wood board just ain't cutting it.

Just theese mats come printed so its ready from box. Much less work. I dont think it is that convinient to make own mat (cost will be at least doubled then the price of gamemat.eu - material+designs+printing)

Is it spill resistant? I considered buying but the videos on the site didn't go into the details of the features.

Yes it is rubber, so it is water resistant, easy to roll. Very durable material. Soft for touching. Good movement of dices and models. New standard in gaming mats I can honestly say. When you would see that in real you would agree.

Looks great

I've got a mat from frontline, they're incredible. By far the most popular playing surface in my club. If this is anything like those, awesome product.

My concern is that keeping it rolled up the mat will be curled at the ends and never lay flat while gaming.

I dislike most gaming mats: they often give the appearance that they should have depth while they are actually completely flat.

Well, gaming mats are mainly there to remove bumps or gaps on the table so you have a nice smooth surface to play on. Any graphics on them is just to break the solid color. If they had any actual depth it wouldnt be a gaming mat it would be a piece of terrain that happens to connect to other terrain to form a board lol. Which isnt a bad idea, mind you, just a bit difficult to do without having it be fixated into one design (as in, that damn hill will ALWAYS be in the way or the game board looks lame, since it doesnt fit anywhere else)

The fact that these are rubber makes me inclined to get some rather than my own. I want them for the detail, which is why i was going to make my own, but if theyre spill resistant and very durable i may just say eff it and buy some lol. My FLGS just has rolls of green on the tables, and theyre notorious for grabbing lint balls and other such things to tip models over. And they arent even anchored to the table, so the fabric shifts uber easy since its so light lol

Thats the best thing on these mats. You can have them rolled for months and unroll on table flat, ready to play! But that has to be rubber backing mat like these! I know only about gamemat.eu and one other manufactured who does them so far.
Market offers couple of other producers which dont match this material so flat surface could be problem.

Finally, someone with a battle mat that looks designed to work with agrellan earth.

Something like this interests me, but I always get reluctant with the idea of buying it online. It's rather a visual product, and somehow a picture doesn't seem quite apt enough. Perhaps if you put up a picture with some terrain and miniatures on it, so we could get a sense of the scale of the pattern?

Because to me, right now, the cracked earth panels look way too huge, but I don't really have a good sense of scale. Maybe I'm wrong.
