Hi all, i thought I'd post this here for some feedback and critique, I seem to have hit a bit of a wall paint wise since I started again last year so any tips about what else I can do or what I need to do better would be much appreciated!

I don't actually own a stock warboss for a size reference because I've never been blown over by the standard models but they look suitably brutish! tbh I only did them because I had some of the awesome maxmini heads and nothing big enough to stick em to! ogryns seemed to be a safe bet! prior to seeing the new kit coming out I was going to experiment with the minotour bodys. might still do it yet...

Aaahhh, it's one of the Maxmini cybork heads! I was trying to place it. Really great job, man. I'd be proud to place that ion the tabletop.

Cheers! yeah them maxmini heads are fantastic, but their just too big to use on any ork model I've found so far! Nearly finished the big mek, will post him up tonight if I get him done after work.

Classy. I love all the extra looted gadgets and toys. Clearly a bad moon, and not just because you painted him yellow.

Yeah, he's fantastic – fun details like the classic black moonflames and commissar hat reall set off a lovely model. Care to talk us through the building process? I'm assuming there's a new ogryn underneath?

Thanks for the positive feedback!, yeah one of the new ogryn's under it all, there's not a huge amount of work in it to be honest, head is a max mini tech freak one, mated to the body with a little greenstuff, armour is a mix of the ogryn shoulder pads, some nob bitz, bionic arm is off a killa kan with a chainsaw end from kromlech I believe? and the gun is the bullgryn one with some extra barrels added that were left over from a daka jet. backpacks from a loota gun I think... the ogryns are a pretty static kit though so its difficult to get an interesting stance without a fair bit more work.

well I finished the second one! this time a biiiig mek, with kustom mega blaster, as that's what I had laying about! I used my new airbrush on this one so its a bit of trial and error, im pleased with him but the photo's don't really show the shading on his skin up very well, i'll try and get my proper camera setup and get some better pics next time.

The big mek looks absolutely epic looking. Only issue i got is...the loadout is pointless lol. KMB is overpriced as hell for what it does, you might have found a use thus deemed this worth your time, but i would be painfully depressed to make such a model and never be able to field him and have him do anything lol. Great detail, just like the warboss.

God, those ogryns as the base model...

cheers! to be honest I'm not much of a gamer, or not at the moment anyway so it was more a case of using up whats in the bits box, but you never know a big mek with megablaster might be the next big thing in the new codex.... or probably not.... but like the big mek I'm an eternal optimist!

managed to find 5 minutes last night to nearly finish modelling the rogue ogryn and he's looking pretty cool too, certainly very psychotic and something an ork would get behind rather then in front of! only issue is fluff wise I get the feeling he'd have a following of goffs as they value violence and war enough to overlook his lack of green skin, what you guys recon?

finally got the rogue ogryn done, did him in a goff paint scheme as I think fluff wise they would be the most likely to follow him due to his violent nature. quite pleased with the result, I tried a few more painting techniques oh him, along with getting used to the airbrush, tried to stipple dome pink onto him to make it look like his green paint has started to flake off, not 100% convinced it worked but I'm not sure how to make it work any better...









and half a mob of new shoota boyz! really pleased at the overall tone of these, need to go back and tweak all the others now to match. meh!

A pale ork! Works surprisingly well! I could see orks following him into battle and bashing skulls in. I really like the run down dirty paint job across all your models. I look forward to seeing the rest of the army.
