So various rumours for 7th (all Imperial armies being battle brothers with eachother; battle brothers being able to hitch a ride in allied transports) means that drop pods just got a lot more interesting. So what kind of things can we do with this?
I enjoy playing assault-heavy lists, so the first thing I thought of was allying my vanilla marines with blood angels for some sanguinary priests. Any others?

What’s the smallest squad that can take a pod as a DT? Honor Guard at 3 man? You’ll need to use that as your base. Then just add a mix of tank and blender special characters until the pod is full. A priest for FNP, a chaplain for hate, probably a librarian for buffs/deny the witch.

Is there a minimum squad size for Wolf Guard and can they take a pod? There might be advantages there. To be honest, I’m not up to date on the non-vanella codex. Fitting two extra HQs in if a single Wolf can take a pod might be worth it. Although the relic banner and chapter champion are nothing to sneer at.
The other question you need to ask is if it’s worth two seats for guys in terminator armor? Sure, Lysander is a rugged tank and awesome beatstick, but is he worth two other chapter masters in artificer armor?
I think the goal for the pod should be either 7 models total (so 3 can be in TDA) or 7 HQs (so all in PA/AA) so you can go all “Seven Samurai” on the battlefield.

Minimum wolf guard size would be three. However, you could detach two of those in another squad and have the single guy in the drop pod. He could be in either power armor or TDA.
That would leave 8-9 slots depending.
You could then grab 4 HQ's as IC and throw them in. I think Arjac is an IC also, so thats 6 guys from the SW codex if you needed.

Depends on if they can start in an allies transport or not.
Also you can do a pretty good ODST with scions platoons.

To attach an inquisitor with hammer hand and rad granades AND a priest from AM, to a death co squad for less than a basic chaplain. Gaining rerolls to hit, rerolls to wound, +1 st, -1 opponents toughness. All combined with furious charge, fnp, relentless, rage and 2 base attacks.

Bearing in mind a TFC can take a drop pod and not deploy in it? Can you put allies in that one?

I would imagine not, since that drop pod is a dedicated transport. Even if the ally rules change to consider battle brothers full fledged member of their brother codex, even units in that same codex can't start in another unit's dedicated transport. I can't imagine drop pods would be any different in that regard.
Only independent characters can get around the dedicated transport restriction.

command squad, 3 chapter masters, 2 librarians, a chaplain, and kharsarro khan, using various chapter tactics and wargear can come out to 1850 even.
One squad of 12 bikes that have 2 unkillable guys 2+/3++/4+FNP and 2+cover on the first turn.
potentially getting 6 psychic powers, 8 force weapon attacks, hammer of wrath, hit and run, lots of grav or plasma, zealot, a 4+ deny the witch, some IWND tanking, scout, furious charge, blind, instant death on 6, rerolls to hit and wound in challanges (from the burning blade Black templar CM).
No unit in the game can take it im sure. Granted its one unit of guys againgst their whole army.

Agreed something tells me that the rule will be okay for things like Rhinos and such, however will depend on how they word dedicated transports, though Scions in Pods is definitely something I would be interested in, I just don't see it happening like that honestly.

lol it would be absolutely useless to use interceptor on the pod as it has already landed and disgorged its contents.
I'd be more worried about warp quake or 300 infiltrating kroot causing me to mishap.

I'm thinking this would be a really fun way to play "fluffy" Space Marines, possibly of the Deathwatch variety.
If it works out, it would be a legal way of playing SM's as they are in the fluff, 7 guys vs an entire army with the possibility of coming out on top
And besides, how could GW not approve, its so "Cinematic" and "Forges the Narative" to an ungodly degree
If it winds up being legit, I'm rolling into my local GW store with this just for Sharts and giggles
