The "New Warhammer 40k" going on currently, I just dont really get it. I've only played during the 6th edition, so I havent gone through any updates. Is it just a new rulebook? A new set of codexes?
Also, they havent even given every one there 6th ed? I get that some get left behind, but Orks havent been updated have they?

Dear old friends, remember Navarro

Blood angels, Orks, Space Wolves, and Dark Eldar are still clear fifth edition books, while GK and 'Crons were built with 6th in mind. But all of those are technically 4th/5th. 6th edition is ending, and 7th is coming out next weekend.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

It's a new edition of the core rules. Your codex is unaffected, or at most there will be an FAQ you can download and print out from GW. This was actually about as good as they've been for releasing codices in one edition - there were years with one, maybe two new codices coming out for a while in 5th.

It looks like 6th edition the expansion books rolled into the main book with some new tweaks.

@Time to Waste: Orks are a 4th edition codex.
