I'm trying to find a claret paint, I've bought blind before and not ended up with the right shade so I'm hoping someone else had found something suitable. Unfortunately I don't have a FLGS to be able to visually check out paints beforehand. The sort of colour I'd like to end up with is the shade found on the shirts of West Ham or Aston Villa (and some others). Looking through Vallejo's range, it seems their Model Color 'Violet Red' might be suitable, anyone tried?
Helpful images (not accounting for colour balance of monitors):
I'd prefer a Vallejo paint if possible but I'll try any other range except CItadel.

“Good people are quick to help others in need, without hesitation or requiring proof the need is genuine. The wicked will believe they are fighting for good, but when others are in need they’ll be reluctant to help, withholding compassion until they see proof of that need. And yet Evil is quick to condemn, vilify and attack. For Evil, proof isn’t needed to bring harm, only hatred and a belief in the cause.” |

You could also try P3 Sanguine Base, it looks to be pretty close to that color.

I've used the vajello red violet and imho it would do the job on a black base. I've painted it onto white, check my gallery for it on my daemon princess. It'll def do the job of replicating that west ham top.

For the Lion and Terra!
Because nothing in the galaxy is black and white, Mankind views the Space Marines as a last resort. The last line. When all else fails. They take up the burden. The noble defenders of Mankind. The last hope.

Or cut out the middleman and just flush some money down the toilet.

P3 Sanguine base is browner and darker than that.
The Vallejo Violet-red comes out looking very similar to what you're after.
If you're up for it, check out the Reaper Master Series line, I think they even have a paint called burgundy.

Thanks, I'll try the Vallejo as first option then.
