Hey, dakka any of you have an decent luck with a Jumper type list at 500 points?

I was thinking something along the lines of this but still need to play test a few things

HQ: Jumppack libby-125

Troops: 6x jump marines 1x flamer-123
Troops: 6x jump marines 1x flamer-123

Heavy support: devastators 4x ML-130

Its 501 points. do people really complain about 1 point though?

any suggestions on modification. I have more marines tactical and assault.
Things i dont have, scouts, bikes, not really much in terms of mech.( I have a few dreads a baal pred, stormravens)

Good...Bad... Im the guy with the, GUN!

The Devastators are going to be left alone. Easy pickings....

I would drop them and beef up your ASM. Also I would suggest getting a meltagun or two to help with any MCs/Armor.

And either go all JP/DP or Mech with BA as of right now.

Also people will complain about 1 point extra at a local Hobby Store....FYI

hq: jp libby-125
elite:jp priest-75
trps:7x jp marines 1x melta-146
trps:6x jp marines 1x melta-128

i can take a power fist or some melta bombs with this configuration

Pretty typical 500 Pt. BA list. It should do well. I run something very similar actually. Almost maximum amount of bodies BA can take.

Instead of meltas or power fists, get more bodies.

I can probably get away with a team of 8 and a team of 7 and take a few melta bombs

Each squad should have a priest and 1 meltagun. Power fists typically aren't great because with such small squads it may never get to hit!

It's all in the rolls.

I would drop the devestator and take another asm squad with melta for aa

Second that ^^. Devastators are not needed. In a 500 point game you will see low mech. Meltaguns/Meltabombs should take care of that. Just get more boots on the boad, mate!

It's all in the rolls.

Take mephitson as ur hq with 2 fleshed out asm squads. Initiative and weapon skill 7 strength 6 and 4 base attacks means that he can solo any independent character and kill them in 1 turn. Just charge in and challenge. Watch as you slay thier warlord and break the squad attached. Ur assault marines are there to tie up the shooty squads in cc while mephitson works his way through entire squads each turn slicing and dicing. Care for terminators btw. Mephitson got nothing against them, shoot em with melta asm and try tie them up long enough for mephitson to kill everything else.

I'd drop the dev and add bikes, they're fast and can keep up with your asm... a priest will help but needing an HQ kinda forces your hand on the priest side...

Mephiston is great...but too expensive at this point level. Especially considering he is just as vulnerable to some heavy weapons fire as the next guy.

Keep the Standard JP libby, one of the best HQs in my opinion for the points, other than an SW RP.

I suppose you didnt read my OP. I dont have bikes. I have tons of jump marines(45-50), 3x priests, 2x ravens,1x baal pred, 4x dreads, 2x Libbys, 15x dc and lemartes, Astorath the grim, a dev unit of ml and Las cannons. 10x vet vanguards and 1 tactical team.

Thats it and im probably not going to add much more until BA get an update.

What about

JP libby
- unleash rage
- sanguine sword

Sanguinary Priest
- jump pack

5x assault marines
- melta gun
- vet sergeant has melta bombs, combat shield and lightning claw

4x assault marines
- melta gun
- vet sergeant has storm shield, lightning claw and melta bombs

libby goes in smaller squad and hunts larger targets
priest in the larger squad that goes for the rest
You could drop the combat shield and give melta bombs to the priest
you could drop the jp on the libby and use wings of sanguinius instead

As it stands this comes to 498 if it helps?

Too little man power. Take out special weapons for more man power. Just give each squad M-Bombs.
